So I avoided this piece of Animie because I thought it was lame...I read the title alone. Then I saw videos on Youtube about how OPM could beat Superman and Goku...and then I really thought it was lame. Then I read a few articles about the guy that could beat any enemy with one punch..and I thought this was the lamest thing ever. Then an episode came up on my youtube list so I watched it.
Now I'm hooked. The show is awesome! It's much deeper than I imagined and very very entertaining. Is anyone else watching or reading?
I watched it up until whenever the break was. It's a really solid show, with some of the best animation for a tv show (I vaguely recall someone saying the number of unique frames per second is equivalent to a disney film) and an actually engaging plotline. I was concerned about having a protagonist so overly powerful that there wouldn't be any acceptable level of conflict, but the series does a good job of finding other ways to drum up drama, which is refreshing. It helps that Saitama is genuinely a decent person, which is sadly a rarity anymore.
Oh man, I fell in love with this show the moment I first laid eyes upon it.
I love the satire and BA fight scenes that fill this series. One might think that "Oh, wow, a show about a character who can beat everybody in one punch? Laaaaaame...", but man, when you watch the action sequences, you can't help but get invested. The build-ups to "Caped Baldy" () showing up, the fight scenes with Genos, Speed-of-Sound Sonic, and other heroes fighting these immensely powerful threats, the parodies of various superhero cliches, I love it all :D And that theme and battle music! Wow! So amazing!
How far did you get, Thalaw? And Tomato, you should finish it. The final battle is pretty darn great and really fun to watch.
I think I did? By break, I meant the end of the first season. Have they started the second season yet?
No, not yet. I'm eagerly waiting for it, though :P
I binge watched the first season. I'm going to have to find the second season. I prefer to watch it dubbed in English because I don't always have time to read the subs (my 1 year old needs daddy's attention).
I agree that this series does an excellent job of setting things up. I wish I had started watching sooner and not let the title detour me.
Season 2 has not yet started. From what I can tell, most rumors have it beginning to air sometime around November, possibly as late as December. That being said, you can go out and find translated versions of the Manga (or, if you're REALLY desperate for as much of the story as possible, translations of the original webcomic)
Personally, I'm gonna let the excitement build inside me until the next season comes out (and hopefully not be disappointed, lol :P)
OPM is hilarious, well-animated, and extremely clever. I was happily surprised since I wasn't sure quite what to expect from what I'd seen from fandom.
Yup, watched it, loved it. Can't wait for season2
