Another beloved actor has passed away.
Passed away at 83 from complications due to Alzheimer's disease. (http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/08/29/willy-wonka-young-frankenstein-star-gene-wilder-dies-at-83)
That's depressing. I always liked Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Such a memorable film and such a memorable performance. I think the only other film he did I've seen is Young Frankenstein, and that was when I was a kid, and I don't really remember it. Clips I've seen of him in that and The Producers make it clear he brought that same level of energy and charisma to his other work.
I was going to post a link to a clip of one of his most famous scenes (either the boat ride scene or the "You get nothing!" scene) but I realized that might be in bad taste.
Yeah, he was a major talent and will be missed. Though he'd been retired for some years now, his body of work is a pretty impressive legacy.
The world's a little less funny now. :(
He was a great talent, what a loss.
What a great body of work!
My favorite Gene Wilder movie was "Sherlock Holmes smarter brother".
My favorite will always be Young Frankenstein.
You don't have funny people like that anymore. He will be missed

You know what, I think I caught some of that on tv about 10 or so years ago. Totally forgot about it.
Very saddened to hear of his passing the other day. An amazing talent.
