Hey my dad is looking for a not so expensive program that can convert PDF to work files. I figured some of you would be more familiar with that sort of thing than I am. Any ones you all are familiar with?
It depends. If the original file that the PDF was made from was a Word Document, then you should be able to just save the PDF as a Word File and then be able to use Word to keep working on it.
I've had some luck with PDF X-Change. It seems to be able to do most things, including let you edit PDF and save it as different formats.

It was not. It was from a program that no longer works in Windows 10 and there is no way to convert them directly to anything that does other than PDF. He needs the text off them though.
Did it convert the text to graphics in the PDF? If not, you may be able to just do a select all copy/paste.
there's also http://www.pdfonline.com/pdf-to-word-converter/ but I haven't used it in years.
I use https://cloudconvert.com/ to convert pdf comics I used to get from a patreon into image files, not sure how it'll work on text though.
