Hi, long time fan of Freedom Force. Played the game in in 9th grade and now I'm a 28 year old college graduate lol. Well as the title says I am trying to use custom skins and meshes, been a long time since I have played the game and I'm having some issues. I was able to get the mesh and skins in the game, using vx_male_aura, but there are no animations for my attacks/walking/ect. I noticed the wireframe that came with it is a Jpg while all the built-in custom meshes have .kf for their keyframes. Any assistance would be great guys, thank you and I just want to say it's amazing how much everyone still loves this game. :ff:

What you need is just a .kf file. The wireframe is just a guide for skinners. If you'll post or PM me your email address, I'll send you some VX keys. What kind do you want? Some that are blaster, basher, kung fu, you know?

No worries, there can be a lot to keep up with. No, not all keys are created equal. Basically, each base type of mesh has its own types of keys. So, all male_basic based meshes can share keys, all VX meshes, etc. There are usually a good variety for most of the main types of meshes.
Alex has a great FAQ for the basics, if you want to relearn them. Of course, you can always ask questions on the forum as well. This is the best community you're likely to find online.

Followed the FAQs and tutorials online, yet the animations still won't work. The mesh I am trying to use is vx_male_aura with the vx torch_keyframes.kf (renamed to keyframes.kf).
Hmm, that's strange. That should be working. Ohh! I know, have you converted the mesh? Is this for FF1 or 2?
You said :ff: in your first post, so I'm thinking this is me being dumb. I sent you :ffvstr: keys, converted to work with the later game. You'll need an unconverted set.
Well, based on that pic, he's trying to use the mesh with :ff:, not :ffvstr:
There might be a problem using vxHuman_Torch keyframes with vxMale_Aura (I'm not sure, though).
Vertex released several keyframes that were meant to be used with all of his meshes, and they can be found here: https://web.archive.org/web/20051215190805/http://newpowerinc.com/meshsecpages/keyframe_central.htm
Try using any of the male keyframes in the top "VerteX for VX Meshes" section. Those should work for you ^_^
