What do you think?
Awfully busy. I'd hate to have to draw it or skin it.
I gave it a Like. In the movie, I don't recall it looking this busy. The lighting used in this picture makes the black leather strapping overlaying the black mesh of the costume base look more silver. This, of course, makes the costume look a lot less cohesive. During the movie, the silver on the mask, collar, forearms and hips stood out. You had to look a bit when he was standing still to see the leather strapping because it was the same color as the base, just a different material. All of that strapping is a bit unnecessary, however, but I really liked it overall.
Looked fantastic on screen, and I definitely don't mind the details since it's a movie costume. Gave it a 5.
Also when I saw the costume for the first time, I was jealous that Batman never had those lenses on his cowl in the movies (the end of TDK doesn't count since it was only for a brief time).
I decided on a Love for this one.
Normally I'm pretty meh about the Black Panther's costumes. They tend to be very simple and a little Batman-Lite. I've also been pretty meh on the character until recently after reading Jonathan Hickman's Avengers and Secret Wars.
This version of the costume is quite nice! I love the helmet, and the metal bits on his arms look good. The details in the black give the whole thing some texture and looked great in action. The only drawback I have is seeing it in stills doesn't seem to look as cool, looks too much like a man in a costume I think.
Anyway great movie costume.
4: I'm going to reflect most of what's been said here. If you had just asked me, without showing me a picture, 'how did you like the Black Panther's movie costume, I'd have said "love!" As others have said, all the straps and everything really didn't show up on the screen. It looked perfect on screen and in action. It looks just like the comics and translated really well. However, seeing it like this, it is too busy, though I still like it.
It's a "meh" for me. There are many things I enjoy about it, but I can't get over the claws, as they remind me of Meg and her lame superpower in a Family Guy episode.
