What working animal meshes do we have? And by working, I mean fully animated, could be used for a character.
These are the ones that I know of:
Wolf (with smaller hex)
Horse
Big Cat (and the multiple hexes)
Gorilla
Yeah, that's it. I feel like there's been far more added since I last paid attention. I'm trying to fill out some more options for Beast Boy and Snowbird, and possibly some of my Summoners. I'd kind of like to find a good owl mesh to use for Snowbird, since it's fairly iconic for her.
And while I'm on the subject, has anyone ever done an updated or different version of the Beast Boy mesh, so that the rhino and elephant forms are fully animated, or maybe added some more animals to it? I'd like to see some kind of snake for a constriction attack, but I don't really see how that could be animated properly, and would probably be better as an FX.
I think RandomDays had some Animals, but I don't remember what ones off the top of my head.
There is an eagle, a bat, and some fish.
Hyena's too, I think.
Gren did a nice conversion of a wolf mesh he grabbed from the Turbosquid site. It's available in his section under Originals.
In his Soviets section, Gren's Ursa Major download contains two meshes; human and bear. The bear is a standalone mesh with all of its own animations.

I took a look at Dana's annual animal request thread and found a few models to import. I might give a few a shot.

Cmdrkoenig67 did a very cool owl skope using the eagle mesh. I used it for my Snowbird skope (which was skinned by Sioux City Dinamo). Btw, my skope has animations where she transforms into an arctic owl, a polar bear and an arctic wolf during some animations:
