Title: Human heroes Kickstarter game
Post by: abenavides on February 22, 2016, 04:10:33 AM
Interesting game. Similar to something I would create.
(Big Xcom fan)

Unfortunately, looks like they're nor getting much support.

Awesome!  This looks really cool!  It's a crying shame they aren't getting more support.  I pledged some, for all the good it will do them with that big of a hill to climb.

Interesting. But it kinda reminds me of the game called Hero X. Powers are not as many/varied as i would have liked.

It's hard to beat Freedom Force, that's for sure. But i wish them good luck in their endeavors/project and hope they get a chance to try and make it.

Well, it would take a great, great deal to beat Freedom Force, and I certainly don't think this game could do it.  Still, I remember that Hero X game, ha, and it doesn't seem quite as bad as that! ;)  I get what you're saying, though.  There's just not many thoughtful, turn-based games like that these days, so I'd like to see it get made to keep the genre alive.

Exactly. I like Freedom Force, but here's the problem; nobody's playing it. Sure, it's still got it's fans, but unless I'm mistaken, there's not that many people out there that still play it these days. Something like Human Heroes would be able to attract a new and hopefully much larger audience than FF currently has, and would make for a decent succesor. Sad thing is, I'm not even sure if there's a large enough audience for this sort of game to begin with, because if there were, than you'd think this would gotten nearly funded by now.

Eh, that's not true.  Divinity: Original sin was a turn based combat rpg and was no 1 game on Steam for like 3 weeks.  It made more money in the first few days then every other game ever made by that studio in it's decade or so of existance combined.  The new X-com and the unofficial remake of the original X-Com--Xenonauts were also both highly successful.  All three games are getting sequels and both Original Sin and Xenonauts were on Kickstarter too and absolutely killed it there.

So it's not that thoughtful turn-based games aren't around any more, it's just that this one isn't grabbing anyone's attention.

Love the new XCOM. Definitely a modern model for this type of game.

Here's another turn0-base superhero game I found a while back . It also had a fund raiser that didn't get picked up. It even got green-lit on Steam , meaning people said there was interest, but it never got made. :(

Someday.

Fair enough, Cat, but I'd say we're still in a place where such games that aren't named X-COM have an uphill battle.

Wow!  Alex, that looked freaking amazing....and it doesn't exist...why did you show me that?  I'm sad now. :(

It looks a lot like Silent Storm, which was itself quite awesome.  I'd kill for a great pulp heroes flavored game of some sort.

Hello to all of you,

I'm Manuel and I'm one of the developers of Human Heroes. I'm thrilled that you like the game  (I just discovered this post) and I want to say thanks to all of you for the support.
We are working really hard to finish the game and we changed all the artistic part (now is more interesting) and we made it a bit smaller to be able to finish it.

I invite you to go to our social media: Twitter (@humanheroesgame) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/humanheroesgame) to see all the improvements that we made and we will continue doing.
Posts like this make us very happy and eager to let you play it as soon as possible.

Sorry if my English is not perfect.

Thanks again,

Datakan.
