I always thought the exact same thing when I played through the first one.
XCOM2 is a must have for me. I'm investing in a gaming PC just for it, rather than a PS4.

As I'm playing the first XCom right now (actually, I played the real first one in 1994...) and enjoying it very much, I'm definitively looking forward to the next chapter and especially its expanded moddability. I really try to keep my expectations in check regarding that specific aspect, as doing something in the spirit of FF would require a lot of flexibility. Still...
I absolutely loved the first one by Firaxis and I've pre-ordered the sequel.
