Title: Scope Help
Post by: daglob on November 07, 2015, 08:13:47 PM
I'm trying to do a scope of an old Golden Age villain called Dr. Devil. I'm trying to scope a trident from Magog to Dr.D, but it won't show up (checked the alpha channel and everything). Any suggestions?

It's not showing up in Nifskope or when you view it in the Character Tool? Feel free to send it my way and I'll be happy to take a look or let me know what specific meshes you are using and I can try it on my end. Let me know if you need my email.

It doesn't show up in CTool. I'm using a plain Tom Versatile mesh for Dr. Devil, and scoping the trident from KSSaints Magog scope/hex. My intent is to have him use the Melee Weapons keyframes.

Which node are you copying from Magog? Things are a little messy where the trident is located, but if you copy NiNode 594 (47, if a converted mesh) named "noclod" everything should work fine. The Editable mesh of the trident is one of the children under that NiNode. Now, I just pasted it to the same place it was located on Magog, the left hand. Are you trying to put it elsewhere?

Trying to put it into the right hand. In the past I've had some success pasting a weapon to another weapon, and pasted it to the bo staff, Then tried to just stick it on the right hand when that didn't seem to work.

The thing is, he's a fake, and really doesn't have to have a trident, but he used one in the story (Prize Comics #14-15) to keep up the illusion that he was you-know-who.

Check out SA's Workbench there's a Tutorial (With Pics) regarding transferring Weapons from one Mesh to another. Could be useful.

Will do.

Success! It's on its way, Daglob. Let me know if anything weird is going on with it on your end. I double checked it through some animations in CTool and everything looked good. I left it in FF1 format.

Hoss fixed the problem, so soon at a Freedom Fortress near you, you can see the awe and grandeur that IS Doctor Devil!

He's a second-rate villain of a second rate character, but he's obscure so...
