Title: DCUG Lang files problem
Post by: Jimaras8 on June 17, 2015, 10:07:56 AM
Howdy guys I am dealing with an issue with the strings file in the DCUG lang folder. I can't seem to be able to change a single word. I have branded a couple of chracters in the mod but when i am trying to write descriptions and bios the game doesn't seem to accept them. For example i couldn't find superboy prime in the strings file so i created the desc. However even after the lang files generation the bio inside the game remains empty. I thought i possibly miswrote something so i tried the slightest change in an existing chracter. I literally changed a letter in Superman's description and generated the files again. Nada!!!! Any ideas? Has anyone experienced this?

Howdy Jim, I experienced that occasionally when I had FFEdit pointed at the wrong mod.  What are the output paths for your lang files on FFEdit?

Which tool are you using for this?

FFEdit, never use the others because they can cause all kinds of errors, especially with mods the size of teh DCUG.

I've been using "m25's language generator", and I have yet to run into any issues with it.

Have you tried it, before?

Ahh, I had forgotten about that one.  I don't think I've used it, but yeah, that would probably work.  I don't know enough about these things to speak to the whys and wherefores, but using the generator in the EZScript Editor set me back quite some time, made me re-generate everything in the DCUG because I got massive errors when I used it.

I like m25's tool because it is really quick and simple to use.

Here's a link to the tool :) http://www.mediafire.com/download/m8k8z7itamk899c/m25_Lang_Tool.zip
