QuoteHowdy folks!  I'm doing a bit of work on my Marvel mod, and I've been trying to figure out how to apportion some of the team resources in the X-Men campaign.  For several of the upcoming missions, I'm going to have a group of dedicated allies join your chosen team and help them during the mission.  Obviously, these characters won't be available for the mission itself.  I've been having trouble deciding who goes and who stays, so to speak, so I thought I'd put it to the community.

Please choose which FOUR characters you'd like to have be your unselectable allies in a mission that pits you against the forces of an unspecified galactic empire.  Please consider that this takes place AFTER the Imperial Guard mission, so we should see a different selection.

I could only really choose Rogue, Wolverine, and Iceman for sure.  These alien type characters usually have energy based attacks, and these characters are pretty resilient to such attacks.  Therefor, I feel safer with the AI in control of them more so than the AI controlling anybody else.

Very hesitantly, I chose Gambit as the fourth.  He would probably do better under my control, but I would rather be controlling those that had a bit rougher time against the invaders, such as Colossus, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl as I'm sure that I could help them last a fair bit longer than the AI would.

I would definitely want to control Storm, here, as she has incredible crowd control, and against hordes of aliens, I'm sure there will be more hordes than not :P

For this set, I am looking at:

Rogue: Flight/Toughness
Gambit: Ranged Attacks
Shadowcat: Ability to avoid damage?
Beast: Brawler/Strength

Trying not to repeat Characters, but these really aren't my first choices.

I pretty randomly picked Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Wolverine and Storm here. Hadn't picked any of them yet.

Gets pretty tough to pick when I don't the exact enemy combinations or perhaps more importantly the story implications.

Thanks guys!  The surmises made here are pretty accurate.  I just don't want to give the nature of the enemy away, because it's a twist in the story! :D

Watch it turn out that the good ol' bug-eyed Qwardians have decided to pay the Marvel Universe a visit :P

Alright guys, I'm writing this mission now, so if any of you want to make changes or get your voice heard, now's the time.  I'll give this a few more days before I make the final selections, but I'm starting to write dialog and customize the mission.
