Title: game play problem
Post by: jeremy355 on May 28, 2014, 11:48:34 PM
I'm having an issue I've never seen before. When you start a level, your courser is a closed fist all the time, rather than a pointer, and the only way to move your character around the level is to right click. The other problem is when you right click to move a character. He simply goes crazy. He runs all over the place, through buildings, cars, and even off of the map into the black beyond. Anyone got an ideas?

You usually need to provide more detail for people to help. Which game your are using (FF or FFvT3R) and what release of it (CD, Steam, etc.) and which version of Windows, for starters. However, in this case, the symptoms are familiar, so I am taking a guess that your issue is similar to the one I had.

I had this issue at one point with the original Freedom Force and found it was a problem with Windows Vista and 7 (and maybe 8). The fix for me was to right click on fforce.exe in the base game directory and chosing Properties. In the compatibility settings tab, make sure that "disable desktop composition" is checked. Restart and all was okay.

There may be other compatibility settings that affect this odd syndrome as well, but that was the one that worked for me (Windows 7, Steam version of the game). I hope that helps.

Thanks Stumpy that was the fix I needed. Sorry I left out so much detail on the problem.
