Hello everybody,
I am wondering who has higher physical stats in each category: Classic Kalibak (Pre-Crisis) or Classic Thor (Silver Age)?
I have been researching both of them and I'm getting mixed results. In some cases, I read that Kalibak is near the strength of Orion and Superman, but in other cases, he seems to be much weaker. I believe that I have classic Thor down (his matches with classic Hulk are very close), but I just don't know how to compare the two. The reason why I am asking is that I'm having a bit of fun with the idea of the Avengers going to Apokolips and fighting Darkseid's forces and trying to stop an invasion on Earth (which is an idea which came from Comic Vine and some pics I found on the internet :P)
That sounds like great fodder for some good Rumble Room matches. As for Kalibak, well he's definitely in Superman's class, and he traditionally can give the Man of Steel a run for his money. Basically, I would say that he's around as strong, not quite as tough, and his attacks are slower. Kalibak is all about power, but he's not too smart or too subtle. So, Thor's main advantages would be his flexibility and his speed.
Seems to me it would go lots like early Ulik. Who was way tougher than modern Ulik. Thor could win but he'd have to really work at it. His foe being more savage and durable than him.
To be clear, my 'not as tough' was in comparison to Superman, not Thor. I'd say Steamteck is about right.
Awesome!
Thanks for the help, you guys!
Glad to help Spyder!
In fact, I'd say Kalibak is a pretty great Marvel model for Kalibak. I think I'd just take my Ulik character from MA and give him a ranged attack to make him Kalibak. If I remember correctly, I think I just gave him PR and stone, with no Inv., or else very low (02) Inv. I could be wrong, though.
