Title: would it be illegal to pay someone to put a skin pak or mod together for me?
Post by: bdrake on February 20, 2014, 06:22:31 PM
title says it all, i'm hopeless when it comes to installing skins and mods. half the time they dont work or i cant find the shortcuts.I've added tons of skins and many had  missing meshes etc. anyway, my question, is it legal to ask someone to put a package of easy to download  skins and mod together for me?

I don't see why it would be illegal.

It would be more like filling a very large request, not posting somebody's work as your own.

No, it's not "Illegal", but it has been frowned on in the past in the context that you are referring to. It's one thing to E-Mail someone a Mesh, Skin, or whatever else that they can't find, but redistributing files like this, kind of makes me uncomfortable, especially without the creators' consent.

Now, if there were specific issues that you were having with installation, and requested help with that, I'm pretty sure that you would have plenty of people step in to try and help you out.

But just for clarification, not all Meshes include Skins, and not all Skins come with the Meshes they were made for. Check the Tutorials, and feel free to ask questions.

Here's a link to more detailed information on installing Skins and Meshes: http://www.alexff.com/faq.php#16._What_are_Skins_What_are_Meshes

For clarification purposes, my issue here is with offering to pay someone to re-distribute content created by other members.
