Title: WIP Warblade
Post by: ShortFuse on January 02, 2014, 05:59:23 PM
Here is one of my first skins I have been working on. Any input would be appreciated.

I really like the work on the harness. You may think about skoping on a piece for the circle thing on the chest though.
The blue could use a few highlights but that really is style choice.

I can't wait to see what else you skin and I'm happy to see new creators.

Thanks for the reply. I originally had skoped on some mesh pieces for the chest pieces, but I am not sure how to add the textures correctly. I have tga files made but not exactly sure how to add the elements into the "tree" so to speak. New to Nifskope. I may need some help from someone, if they are willing.

I think there are a few tutorials about that in the Hex Editing section.

Warblade is looking pretty good there Short Fuse!

If you are worried about the textures for skopes on pieces, I'm pretty sure that you can change it in the tree of the editable mesh branch (away from PC now, sorry for vagueness ) if you want to add all I the skope pieces onto a single extras.tga file, be ure to adjust the mapping to accommodate all the pieces.  Then you can right click on the editable mesh, go to texture, then export a UV map. That wil make a wiremap for you. Sorry for rambling. There are a number of tutorials in the hex ing section.

I think I figured it out by trial and error. Thanks for the suggestions. Any thoughts on meshes for the "hoses"?

I don't know about actual "hoses", but Tommyboy has some meshes with chest straps that may work for you.

Check out his "Hawkman_TF" mesh located here: http://www.tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/DC%20meshes%20H.html

You could also check out Tommyboy's Superman Prime for those 'chest straps'.

The skin looks pretty good.. I like that you've already attempted shadows on the first skin you're showing. I didn't even think about it until a few skins in!

That's a nice skin ShortFuse. As for the harness, I think that Tomato's Red Ant has one similar to that one.

Thanks windblown. I'll check it out. I have that one on hand. I tried the hawkman mesh, but the warblade mesh's chest is much broader than the hawkman mesh.

It's an easy fix. You can shrink down spine1 until the harness fits. If you need help with the skope PM me and I'll try my best to get you what you need and show you a few tips.
