Title: Anyone interested in helping?
Post by: Sioux City Dynamo on December 21, 2013, 02:42:27 PM
Hi, looking to skope some E2 parademons for the rumble room.  Would like them to FFvsTTR (i.e. with skin partitions) to eliminate ghosting in the rumble room.  Anyone interested, able to help skope/mesh these guys?

Wow...That looks...Complex. A lot of the pieces could be pulled from Tommyboy's Iron Man and Thor meshes. Maybe his S.T.R.I.P.E. mesh as well? Gren's Doomsday mesh has the claws. I'm not sure about that back collar looking piece though. Unfortunately, without my computer, I can't do much, but maybe someone else can help out.

Somebody has something like that back collar, I just can't remember who.

Maybe the collar from Strong Guy (is that it?) turned up slightly? I think I used that for the collar on the Ro-Man scope.

I have actually been thinking of an Earth 2 EZScript mod at the back of my mind the past few weeks.

From the link you've shown us, SCD, the separate pieces you'll need are:

- Ears
- Back collar
- Chestplate
- Shoulder pads
- Arm Bracers
- Claws
- Codpiece
- Fused knee pads/Leg bracers

I dunno if it helps dividing it into handleable tasks, but maybe the work could be split among skopers.

If there aren't any takers, I might post back after New Year's!

Hmm... I would like to try and come up with something.

I'm not very experienced at this stuff, but I guess that I could try.

- Ears. Texas Jack's Gremlin has similar ears
- Back collar maybe TJ's Dormamnu's collar can be seperated.
- Chestplate
- Shoulder pads tommyboys Iron Man
- Arm Bracers
- Claws
- Codpiece TommyBoys Lex Luthor maybe
- Fused knee pads/Leg bracers  Iron Man

It looks like a lot of it could come from a mix of Tommyboys Iron Man, STRIPE and Lex Luthor armor meshes. As Cyber Burn said. Then you could take the claws from Texas Jack's venom too, if you don't mind them being exaggerated a bit.

This is what I have so far:

Spoiler

It's simple so far, but I'm wondering if the parts look right.

I used Gren's Thor_Girl_Gren's ear wings, Valandar's Bugbear's goggles, and Texas Jack's Venom_TJ for the body.

Added shoulder pads from Jik's Space Marines

Spoiler

I'm going to wait for SCD's say-so to keep going.  I just want to be sure that I'm fulfilling the request properly.

Man, you work fast, spyder! He looks pretty good so far. You know what, lemme do the arm bracers, if you and SCD would let me! I'd like to help out.

If we get more people on this, it'll be like building Voltron, except evil butt-ugly as hell. I'll wait for the go-ahead!

That would be great, V!

Your work is always welcome :D

The chest piece could probably be pulled from one of Tommyboy's "Iron_Man" Meshes, maybe the MK20 or MK21 versions? They would probably need to be re-sized and moved around a bit though.

Spyder, great choice in using TJ's "Venom" mesh as a base, I would not have thought to go there.

V, are you able to add the effects to the pieces you mesh, such as the (_Refl) and (_Glow)? Having access to that might bring a little more depth to the finished skin.

And I think I would definitely go with Doomsday's claws on the arm bracers.

I am really impressed Spyder, you've got some great choices in mesh pieces there.

Thanks, Cyber!  I appreciate the compliments :)

I've tried pulling pieces from Tommyboy's Iron Man mesh, but unfortunately, I cannot seem to pull any of the mesh pieces off of the meshes.  It's really strange.

Yeah, I had issues with just clicking on the pieces as well. You would probably have to go into the list/branch portion of NifSkope to find the pieces.

Well, I've found that Ultimate_Iron_Man_tvlite works well with selecting pieces, but there's one issue:

the pieces I place on the mesh won't stay in the same place, per say.  They stick to the bone, but unfortunately, the bone floats around during different animations, thus the armor floats too.

Here's a slender, working alternative:

Spoiler
(http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/3987/l3qn.png)

I'd still like to use TJ's Venom mesh, but his Male_Basic_Symbiote mesh seems to work more accordingly

PS: I already resized the head wings.  They aren't so big, now.

Yeah, I had issues with just clicking on the pieces as well. You would probably have to go into the list/branch portion of NifSkope to find the pieces.

Based on experience that's likely based on the alpha settings. You'd have to right click on the NiAlpha node and go flags and change the number to something else. Usually 200 works well.

Skope is coming along nicely spydermann93, especially for a challenging design.

Oh, V:

Would you like me to send you the skope that I have laid out so that when you're done with the gauntlets, you could just attach them?

If yes, just pm me your e-mail and I'll send it as soon as I get it from you :)

All I need to find is a chest/collar piece that fits the picture, but I can't find anything (at least, not in what I currently have).

I've encountered the same problem you just said! I won't be able to fix it since it'll involve Blender, and you probably know all this, but I can at least offer a for-the-record theory and solution.

Here's a preview of the the Parademon bracer! Now:

Spoiler
1. When the piece gets animated, it considers that pink dot the pivot: even if you adjust the XYZ's in Nifskope, the invisible dot's the actual basis. The piece'll remain the same proximity to it, which is why the entire piece 'floats' when doing specific animations.

2. What I did here is move the piece itself so it's 'centered' in the dot.

3. Now it's centered! The green dot shows where the node will latch on to.

Think of it as the difference between rotating your wrist while holding the handle of a mug, and rotating your wrist while holding the end of a seven-feet long handle of a mug.
=
Almost done with the bracer, just the two orbs on its surface! I'll e-mail it back to you once it's done, spyder.

@Cyber: I think I've got the refl and glow figured out: I'll skin the thing first, then I'll try and use tommyboy's bumpmapping tutorial on it. Awesome suggestion - thanks for the idea!

Hi guys,

This is great!  Thanks for all your hard work on the Parademon!!  Is it possible to utilize your thin version on the TJ symbionte mesh with a different body?  I believe that Tomato has male basic meshes that emulate male heavy....I think...

Then it would be possible to change the size in nif skope and still take advantage of the symbionte keys with a male heavy body style....

Also, looks like in the most recent Earth 2, parademons have batlike wings during flight......any thoughts on how best to emulate that?

Thanks again to everyone for all your hard work on this!

Respectfully,

I can try finding a bulkier body (which is what I'd like to have), but I'm unsure how to achieve that.  I'm not too great at resizing the body of meshes; just the extras.  I'll take a look at Tomato's meshes once I get the mesh back from Vorelli :)

As for the wings, perhaps the wings from Male_Draconus_Gren or Annihilus_Gren can be used?  They seem to look fairly bat like.  Windblown made a really nifty tutorial explaining how to make certain mesh pieces disappear during certain animations, so perhaps that can be utilized?

Tomato's TM type meshes do come in various sizes, but I don't think there are any actual "Male_Heavy" proportioned ones. Using one of those though, you may lose the claws on the hands, I don't remember if they were separate mesh pieces or not. His "Muscular" mesh may be an option though.

Spyder, if you go this route, a simple body swap may work for this.

As to the wings/flight question, there is a Parademon mesh by Crusader/Saracen at Alex's Freedom Fortress, and there is a Parademon skope by Tap43 which might be at his Yahoo Group that you could check out. I believe that there is also a VX_Archangel mesh in which the wings are only seen during flight animations, but I could be wrong on that. Do you happen to have a pic of what the wings look like? That might get you some better suggestions.

To get both the symbiotic keys and the flight keys to work together might require some very heavy skoping, I'm not quite sure how feasible that would be.

But then again, I haven't really slept the last few nights and am probably just rambling nonsense.

Yes, you are right about vxArchangel only showing his wings during flight.

And yes, it will will require a good bit of skoping, but hopefully we'll be able to come up with something.

Hi Cyber,

Below are some links to the pics of the new 52 parademons.  They are totally different than the classic parademons like sarcen and TAP previously did...

Cyber brought up my Male_Muscular_TM mesh, but truthfully, I think the base mesh I used in CLA_Owlman might be closer to what you're looking for. It's as close to being Male_Heavy you're going to get without, y'know... being Male_Heavy. You could also use the feet claws from Skeletor (on TUE's page) as they're designed for it, but they have only the 3 claws.
