Has anyone tried using one to make voices for the game?
I did a quick search and found this free software MorphVOXJunior (http://www.screamingbee.com/product/MorphVOXJunior.aspx). I haven't really tried it but some videos related to it.

Not sure if it's the best free software of its kind out there though, so if you guys know of any other that's better....well...i'd like to try them out too. Thanks. :)
I've tried MorphVox. You won't get anywhere with Jr/Lite. Pay for the full version. I got a license for somewhere around $20 for that one.
Your basic sound/music mixing programs actually come in a little more handy though to be honest.
I get more effect than anything out of Goldwave personally, and it was pretty easy to learn as well.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions Catman. :) It must be nice having the full version of MorphVox. Have you ever tried making different voices for different character types in :ff: or :ffvstr:? I'll take a look at the Goldwave software. I'm not sure how you can use an audio editor to change your voice, but a quick google search gave me a few leads as to how it can be possible..(voice changer software Diamond)? Hmmm...if it can do that, i wonder if Audacity could do it too. I'll try to read more about it. Thanks.
I got the full version like I do most programs, I just wrote the company and told them I needed it for a project. At first I just had it for it's original purpose: Calling my buddy and sounding like Darth Vader on the phone, lol. But I toyed with making voices for MUGEN with it, and yeah, I made my own. With the full version though you can download a ton of free preset voices for it. Though, I still found the functionality lacking. Most of the actual industry doesn't use specific voice changing software or wares for voice effects, they use the same stuff for any other sound recording, again because of functionality, whereas something like MorphVox was only made to change ones voice on the phone originally.
Changing your voice, or another in any of your basic audio programs isn't a big deal and mostly a matter of trial and error. Much of it boils down to changing the pitch and/or tone, and adding echo effects where needed. That's about it. I'd definitely say Audacity would work well for you too.
You really cant go wrong with Audacity as a Free Audio tool. It rivals commercial stuff in lots of ways.
Plus it supports VST format plugins (to a degree), and there are tons of free VST effect plugins that you can download from various sites. Many of them are just variations on your basic effects (reverb, delay, EQ etc...) but each one has their own sort of flavor (good and bad), and there are some weird "out there" ones that while maybe not lending itself specifically to what you are after, can definitely move you in different directions and encourage experimentation.

Hi Outcast, I've used Audacity in some of my voicepacks to alter pitch, speed, add echo, etc...Its a great free program.

That's pretty cool to know Dana. I've always wondered how some of the voicepacks out there were being done. :cool:
