Howdy guys, I'm not really very happy with my original Human Torch (android) build. I feel like he's too powerful, but at the same time too limited. Here's what he looks like:

What do y'all think? What do y'all's version of this fellow look like? I've definitely got to make his "fireball spread" attack NOT area.
I find myself having trouble finding ways to make characters with similar power sets distinctive often. Its alot of time with speedsters, and the Torches are no different.
First off, for myself, I try to not have that many powers for him. That is, as many as you have.
In the comics, when Johnny Storm fought the original Torch, Johnny was defeated because Hammond was able to manipulate heat better. It kinda means to me that I could try out new ideas with how he uses his powers.
Btw, this is for :ff:, so it may not have much practical application for you.
I gave him an area attack called "Heat Stroke" that has a damage type of Heat, with no damage but a high Stun. Like, Very High. All this simulates is Torch increasing the heat very high very fast, but not to the point of combustion.
I also gave him one called "Spontaneous Combustion"; a projectile attack with a small radius that causes Ignition damage.
I also dont give him a "Nova" flame like Johnny Storm with knockback and all; I give him an area attack like that with high heat but no knockback called "Bonfire".
And trying to do Toro is a pain too. I dont even give him beam attacks; just a projectile attack called "fire bullets" which is alot of low damage fire projectiles. And to illustrate his relative inexperience in using his flame powers I give him what is basically El Diablo's Hellfire attack with a power cost of Medium and only moderate accuracy. Its powerful as hell, but Toro doesnt have the skill needed to effectively utilize it and not have it go off course and possibly horribly injuring his team mates. However, if youre facing alot of enemies...
But as for your hero file, I myself would probably...
1. Delete a few of those powers
2. Bump up the point costs for the ones left over
3. Reduce the secondary effects for the attacks a little
Just my thoughts on it.
Jim Hammond's ability to control flame is about the same as Johnny's and he has been know to reach the level of "nova," but he must rest after doing so (for about 12 hours).
Quote from: Marvel WikiaThe Torch can release all of his body's stored energy in one intense, omni-directional "nova-burst," which can reach about 1,000,000 F, and which is similar to the heat-pulse of a nuclear warhead detonation, with an are of total devastation of about 900 feet in diameter. (The Torch has claimed that he can destroy a small moon with his nova-burst.)
He standard flame bolts are about the same as Johnny's (2,800°F; near the melting point of iron).
Flight speed-wise, he flies about as fast as Johnny, but his extent is unknown. Johnny has been known to fly at supersonic speeds at times.
Since he's an android, he's immune to toxins and radiation (corrosives are another story). He is also a tad stronger than Johnny (not much) and a better fighter (perhaps faster swiftness in melee attacks and maybe one more melee than Johnny). And he can fight longer in a brawl than Johnny can (but overall, about the same in creating flames).
Overall, here are the stats that I have for both of them:
Johnny Storm

The Android Human Torch can keep his flames going indefinitely while Johnny can only maintain it for about 16.8 hours (also depends on his health and fitness level).
So, not much difference between them stat-wise, but their powers could be modified to reflect their experience in using their flames. Johnny's could be a bit more "expensive" in terms of energy cost to represent Johnny's "flame fatigue," but they could do more damage (Johnny turns into a Plasmoid being when he "Flame's On" while Hammond only becomes engulfed in flame). Hammond's could be a bit weaker in general damage (no higher than "High," except his nova attack which could be "Very High"), but cost less.
Here are official Marvel Stats for both if you'd like to check them out:

Hmm...thanks for the ideas guys! I think I know what I'm going to do. :D
I also remember seeing somewhere that due to the nature of the android Human Torch's flame (I assume meaning an artificial source compared to a congenital one) that his flame sheath did not offer resistance to cold or wind. So, that would offer a significant difference to Johnny Storm in the resistance department whichever way you wanted to work it.
