So I decided to share a certain Deadpool-centered comic page (the one where he dresses up like a certain X-person... If you don't know what I'm talking about, you haven't seen it) with some of my non-comic book friends via tumblr... and I had an interesting reaction I thought you all might enjoy
[2:24:31 AM] Tomato: Hmmm
[2:28:34 AM] Tomato: enjoy my latest tumblr post :D
[2:29:28 AM] Fire Storm: trying to organize my binder full of drawings...they are all kinda jumbled together rigt ow
[2:29:55 AM] Halosandbagels: That....is......certainly.........what?
[2:30:46 AM] Tomato: Deadpool
[2:31:11 AM] Halosandbagels: lol.
[2:31:20 AM] Halosandbagels: But....like...what?
[2:31:24 AM] Fire Storm: ...but I thought Deadpool WAS a mutant
[2:31:39 AM] Tomato: no
[2:32:10 AM] Tomato: he was a normal human who got experimented on by Weapon X, same people who messed with wolverine
[2:32:27 AM] Tomato: also: THAT is your first question about that page
[2:32:40 AM] Tomato: Really?
[2:32:42 AM] Fire Storm: eeeyup...
[2:32:57 AM] Fire Storm: the rest is just Deadpool being Deadpool
[2:34:58 AM] Tomato: So you're desensitized enough to Deadpool's antics that the page doesn't scare you to your very soul... but you didn't know he wasn't a mutant?
[2:35:14 AM] Tomato: *throws hands up in disgust*
[2:35:27 AM] Halosandbagels: lmao xD.
Edit: removed the mild language... oops.
While it sounds like you're talking about the scene from C&D, I must nonetheless say...
Deadpool's dressed up as Jean Grey in at least two comics. You're that familiar with the character and yet you didn't know that? ;)
