By now, most people around here know I'm not exactly the sharing type, at least not when it comes to personal info. That being said, there are the noted exceptions, this being one.
Mrs. Gunn and I are going to be creating a new minion this summer. We've got a due date of 17 Sep, and have the big ultrasound on Wednesday to see what color minion uniforms we need to start acquiring from the local sweatshops. This will be a new chapter for me, but it's not her first rodeo, so at least we're not completely clueless. I'll make a prediction right now, though -- my irritability level will likely increase by November, so I may start stabbing people more frequently than Tomato. Consider this your only warning.
And how will your new minion be equipped; a plasma rifle or just an old school steel pipe? Hmm, is there such a thing as a "Minion Shower"? I guess you need to wait and see what type of uniform you need first. In all seriousness, congratulations and I wish you and Mrs. Gunn the best.
Is there a FR pool on what you'll discover Wednesday?
Congrats PG. Awesome news.
Congrats, Panther. Now, if I liked you more, I'd offer you a gift. Heck, who am I kidding! I totally got you a gift. A special one. That ticks.
*Disappears in a chorus of "DUN DUN DUN!"*
Congrats PG!!!!!! Awesome news and many sleepless nights will be coming forth soon.

Congrats!
Are you going to name the baby Damian?
Gah!! ANother FR memeber is spawning?!?!?! I thought that was illegal in most states? And what's this about Panther stabbing more people becuase he's irratible?!?! Come on, he'd have to start doing that just to get attention! :P
Congratulations on the new minion Panther. Take it one day at a time. :)
Congratulations!
Yay! Gratz!
That's awesome, congrats!
My son was my first born and spoiled us rotten... slept through the night and hardly ever fussed. We both were like, okay ready for number two... then we had the girl... BE AFRAID!!!
Like so many newbie dads, I thought girls were easy till teen years, but much to my dismay, I learned early and quickly the drama starts DAY ONE! I love my little girl and her smile brightens my day... but definitely BOYS ARE EASIER!!!! Don't let anybody tell you about little tea parties and dolly dress up time... those are the good times! It's mommy and daughter fighting EVERY DAY over every little detail of what this little girl's life is gonna be like from the cradle to the grave that's gonna get ya!
My wife was sooo jealous over the bonding between me and my son before our daughter was born... "how come he always wants to be around you? How come he wants to spend so much daddy time??" I thought things were gonna be so easy once she had her little girl, OMG I spend most of my day playing referee between those two it ain't even funny.
Point is... ya might get an easy no hassle baby from day one or you might end up with no sleep, no peace and no place to hide... It's the ultimate surprise package and ya won't know till you get home from the hospital, CONGRATULATIONS ... and GOOD LUCK!
Ha! You say minion... but after my fourth offspring I can tell you that they don't follow orders all that well and the males tend toward breakage that increases your insurance premiums.
Congratulations anyway!
Goodness! Congratulations on the new Panteher Cub! That's wonderful news!
Well, now that things have slowed down sufficiently, I suppose I should share the news update. Looks like it's going to be a boy. That was the first thing the tech (she was *way* too young looking to be an actual doctor) looked for on the US, and it was about the *only* shot that he cooperated with (most likely because he was caught off-guard). Just about every other angle she tried for specific pics, he rolled over onto that section. Looking for heartbeat? Laying on tummy. Looking to measure spine? Laying on back. Sounds like he'll take after me when it comes to privacy issues!
Everything looks fine, no abnormalities, all measurements look about spot-on for this stage of development, with the exception being legs -- they're about two weeks ahead! Looks like he might take after my side, being a bit tall, as opposed to the shorties on her side.
So, the wife had started on a blanket before we knew what we were having, with colors that could be made to work for either. Since it's a boy, she says she wants to decorate with classic Mickey Mouse, as it's red with alternating black & white. I want to say there's got to be a super-hero with that color scheme, but for the life of me I can't think of who it might be. Giant-man is the only one that comes to mind, but he's never really been high on my list, so I'm not sure. Of course, I will be attiring him in as much super-hero garb as I possibly can, because that's a given, but also in a hope that it will give him something else to identify with and stave off the rabid sheep-like following of the local college team before he even has an opinion about sports or colleges.
And now that we know what's coming, the buying of things can begin in earnest. yay. <_<

Hmmm...

(BTW: good to hear that the pregnancy is proceeding smoothly.)
Congratulations, Panther G! Hope all goes well.

What ever you do, *don't name him "DireCub"* :direcub
Time for an official update!:
Now that we are in a different part of the hospital, I've finally got a signal again. My first official minion, Liam, was brought about last night, immediately protesting being pressed into indentured servitude, but otherwise healthy. He is currently calibrated to take up 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches in our designated escape vehicle. Mrs. Gunn and little one are both doing well. I will endeavor to post an appropriate mugshot when it becomes available.
Congratulations, Evil Mastermind! :)
Haha, congratulations PG! Now, be sure to bring him up with an iron hand so that your master plans will succeed! :D
Congrats PG!

Here's the boy's first official PR shot. He's wearing his comin' home outfit. He was a little impatient to get out on patrol & start busting some heads, so it's not best shot. But you get the idea.

That is some serious kung fu right there.
He probably doesn't like the Spidey T-shirt? Maybe he's more of a DC fan, who knows. Congrats PG. :)

But of course! Yeah, he looks ready for action! :D
I'm a little late to the party - Congratulations!
Congrats.
I think he was upset because he didn't have his webshooter on.

Of course, Benton, you'd say tha. If it were up to you, this little weird plushy, plump human-esque thingie would be dressed as exactly like Aquaman and probably be telling the fish to poop somewhere else.
At his age, Aqualad might be more appropriate....
In honor of the wee one's first complete trip around the sun, I share this:

This is his preferred way to fill that annoying down time while eating -- with a book in hand. He spontaneously started balancing the bottle (I have a feeling DJ had something to do with that) and picking up the books he dumps out beforehand. And yes, those are Batman shoes he's wearing, as well as a Batman shirt. And, yes, that *is* a cape attached to the shirt.
On a related note, the wife *just* informed me yesterday that she's planning to have a super-hero themed party for him this weekend (I didn't even have a hand in this one -- further proof of how awesome she is), but is having trouble finding good decorations. We'll be checking Party City this evening, but in the event we can't find enough, I thought I could print some things out at work, but I need images that don't require too much work done other than cropping. Does anyone have, or know links to, good sized & quality images of various super-heroes sans background? I'd prefer late 70's - early 80's artwork if possible, but would also accept earlier, iconic looks as well. The looks I know I want are Curt Swan (Superman), Neal Adams/Jim Aparo (Batman), John Romita Jr. (Spider-Man), John Buscema (Fantastic Four), John Byrne (X-Men), George Perez (Teen Titans). I want Iron Man to be pre-Silver Centurion (I think that was the Mark IV armor), no belt pouches on Cap, green Hulk in ripped purple pants, Green Arrow to be wearing a hat, not a hood, etc. I'll have just tonight & tomorrow night to work on these, so the less I have to do to them the better. Will still need to spend time printing and possibly gluing to cardstock, if I can find any, and then possibly cutting to proper size/shape. Any help would be appreciated.
What a very discerning 1 year old to prefer 70s and 80s comic art.

When he starts work with both hands while drinking from the bottle, then you can blame it on me...otherwise I had nothing to do with it...unless that is what he does and then yes, I taught him that when you weren't looking. Gotta make sure every child is ready for their first bottle of booze.....
awww... that's just too adorable.
Not sure about your artwork, but have you tried looking up Stickers of said characters? The online art might be what you need since they should be backgroundless.
