I released this one some time ago in FRP2 and announced it in TOF (FR was still in limbo), but since then I received two feedbacks, Martialstorm posted in TOF saying he liked it, but I received one mp saying the player found a bug and couldn't complete Mission 1. I told him how to fix it, but since the bug never appeared in my tests I need to know if anyone else played the mod and had any problem to complete the first mission.
And if you didn't found the topics in FRP2 and TOF:
The mod it's available at FRP2:
http://frp.unlimited2.net/lsh-the-never-ending-darkness/ (http://frp.unlimited2.net/lsh-the-never-ending-darkness/)
The mod have 7 playable missions, dozens of playable characters from two different versions of the Legion (classic and reboot) and some new skopes and skins I made specially for this. I hope you like it, guys.

i lkie the legion characrters. (loved the cartoon too). i will be downloading this this weekend.
Thanks, Amazo.
I hope you like it. I'm looking forward to your feedback.
I was playing thru the game today and when I got to the "Lunar2" mission, I encountered a problem. After I defeated the 3 villains, nothing happened. I explored the map and nothing happened. My current objective was to defeat the 3 villains, which I did, but whatever is supposed to occur next was never triggered.

Spoiler
Justin,
There is an object/artifact near the place the Fatal Five shown up for the first time, you have to "examine" it with one of your characters to close the encounter.
I figured from the dialog that there was an object to be investigated, however, the only objects on the map are health/power canisters. I can only assume the object in question was destroyed by Sunboy's fireballs.
Try to re-start the mission, modded missions don't work very well when we try to play from a mid play save. The object is Tommyboy's "artifacts", the bell, the wheel and the jar from JLA:
http://tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/other%20meshes%207.html
Let me know if you still have any problem.
sorry for the latr reply john jr. i started playing the mod, at least the first level anyway, unfortunately my science police kee[ dying. :banghead:

About the poor SPs:
Spoiler
Choose a fast character, like Mon-El or Ultra Boy and take Ivy ASAP, so she won't be able to control your guys, use Saturn Girl to control or stun Deathstroke, use Cos to repel Sinestro away from the SPs.
I hope it helps.
Haven't got to try this yet. Just got back into FF and trying out some mods I never finished like Suicide Squad and The Great Hunt. Looking forward to trying this.
Just finished the first mission, very tough. Nice challenge, with some really well put together skins and skopes. Some gramatical issues which weren't a big deal, it was easy enough to understand. Overall, I liked it and look forward to continueing on.

I'm sorry by my very limited english skills, and I'm relieved to know it didn't hurt your fun.
I agree with Cyber, excellent mod!
Spoiler
I just played up to the mission where Brainy and Norg are talking about the invaders from an alternate universe (on Very Hard, mind you :P), and I'm loving the missions! There are some grammatical errors as Cyber pointed out, but nothing to distract from game-play.
Excellent work!
Thanks, I'm very glad you're liking my mod.
Spoiler
BTW, you already played the "choice" encounter in the Therian mission, right? What you choose, "fight" or "talk" to Clea?

Don't apologize John, your English is a lot better than my Spanish, and I spent the last 30 years exposed to the language.

Spoiler
Oh, yes. I did play that one! I chose talk over fight, but Clea died in the fight with Cylla. I'm not sure if that was supposed to stop the fight or not, but it didn't. I did end up winning, but not without Superboy taking a beating :P
Spoiler
Poor Clea. :(
Nope, the mission was supposedo to continue even if Clea died. I just wanted to give the player the chance to choose if he wanted deal with the problem with his fists or his words. The mission just becames harder if you choose to fight, because Cylla makes good use of the time you spend fighting Clea.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking forward to your impressions about the rest of the mod.
Ah, I see.
I'll be continuing the mod soon. I'm loving it so far :D
My advice to everybody: Play on "Very Hard" It really brings out the balance of the characters and it feels more comic-like in the battles. I enjoy it a lot.
Ok, I just installed FFVT3R on my current PC and started this mod. Like the first two missions however I have a problem on mission 2.
Spoiler
I was fighting the Composite man and I get him down to 41 hp and he just stops taking damage. I am doing damage but he stays at 41 hp.
earl of bronze,
I don't remember have seen something like this in my tests, but sometimes we have some weird bugs on mods that just disappears when we re-start the mission. Anyway, I'll check the mission and see if I can find anything out of place.

I just re-tested it.
Spoiler
I had no problem in clobber CMan and sabotage the transmitter, BUT Cman have a minor invulnerability (he absorbs up to 10 damage) and he have "adaptive" too. So you need hit him with different powers that give more than 10 damage to defeat him.
Hope it helps and let me know if you need more assistance.
Looking forward to your feedback, as always.
Ok
Spoiler
I finally managed to ko Cman by overpowering Wildfire's punches(since blast doesn't work). It's still strange since I got him down to 41 hp without overpowering anything. However then I sabotaged the device and the mission would not end. Gotta got to bed now.
Spoiler
Ok, this is very weird. Did you tried to re-start the mission?
Earl, can you try the play session again and then post the logs once you encounter these problems? Could shin some light on your issues. Something may be wrong with your install of the mod or it may be looking for something it can't find.
I'll restart later tonight or tomorrow. I installed from my original discs, moved the mod into the folder then installed FFX 3.3. Maybe I did things in the wrong order?
Usually we install FFX 3 before installing a mod, but I don't see how it could create the problem you faced, but my programming knowledge is very limited.
Ok, I haven't been able to replay yet. Maybe tomorrow.

OK, I replayed the mission and did complete it this time. Strangely enough Wildfire's punch started off at 100 damage, 200 over powered and I did that while I could. Still cannot use his anti energy. I also noted that the bug guy has most of his body missing the skin. Instead it has a pinkish/purple outline of his body.

Main FFvTTR folder after you play the game. It refreshes every time the game is launched or a mission is played. They'r text documents that specifically say "script" or "ff" (.log)

The skin issue is because the original skin in in TGA format, :ffvstr: don't like TGAs and sometimes it can't read this format (hence the pink plague). I converted most of the textures to DDS ( :ffvstr: default format), but looks like I missed this one.
The Wildfire issue may be caused by the game not finding the right FXs and powers. The logs may help us to discover it.
Maybe you'll have to re-install the mod, because it uses a lot of FFX FXs, powers and attributes.

I don't see anything named log. Is the file name something else?
Sorry earl, apparently I never hit "send" on my edit, and I just did so a few seconds ago. Go back and read that message. My bad.

I have no text documents in the main folder.
Earl, you have a 64 bit computer now, right? Some of your files may be in a compatibility folder. When you go to the main FFvTTR folder, check to see if you get a notice about a compat folder in your toolbar.

Ok that was it but it exceed the character limit for a post even when split in half.
Earl, which file is the longest? I'm shocked that your script.log and ff.log are big enough to produce results longer than 20k characters, which is the board limit.
The script is 65 kb. Ff is 29.8 kb. It won't post either.
Personally, considering you're trying to get help, I think it'd be fine if you split the logs amongst 2 or more posts. You could also email them, if JJ is up for that option.
I'm game, but with my limited programming skills I don't know how much I'll be able to help.
I'll start a thread in scripting forum in the morning.
The thread is up in the scripting forum.
I have completed missions 3&4
Spoiler
Nice work on both missions, Your Mordru build is much more challenging vs the LSH as opposed to the one Tommy boy did.(which was laughably easy because he made kryptonians and daxamites virtually impossible for Mordru to damage) I will be playing more missions soon
Finished the last 3 missions:
Spoiler
Nicely done with the missions and dialog. The only thing I disliked was Darkseid was far too easy to defeat. The Composite man put up a better fight. Aside from that a great mod!
Spoiler
I'm glad you liked, earl and I'm sorry the Darkseid build wasn't of your liking.
Just for curiosity, what path you choose in the Therian mission, you talked with Clea or you clobbered her?
Spoiler
I talked to her, personally, and it turned out that she got slain by the other girl-person (I forgot her name  :P)

Good call, guys.
I'm just curious to know if someone got the "fight" route. Hope you liked the story.
Hi!
I've got some problems playing this promising & exciting mod (I assume it is by reading the many comments!).
Everything through the setup works fine until the fatal double-click on the short cut.
Instead of launching the beast, this bloody message appears:
"ALERT
alert:CIntlLoader::setLanguage(og"), No language of that name exists."
I don't get it. :banghead: Though I live in France, I have a US version of the game.
Could you help? :D
Thank you!
Shazam to you all!
Hi, Mr Worf, welcome aboard.
I never saw such message, you can play the unmodded :ffvstr:? You did the default install? Or your game is installed in a different path?
I saw on the first page that the installation of FFX 3 is required to play this mod correctly. How do I use the fx found in FFX 3 for LSH? Do I install the mod in the FFX 3 folder? (Supergirl and Ultra Boy both can't use their heat vision so I'm assuming this is the problem)
1. Install FFX normally.
2. Install LSH normally.
3. LSH should detect the FX in the FFX folder.
Unfortunately this still hasn't solved the problem. When installing FFX 3, though, I received the error message "EZFX not found, installing default FFX.dat" or something like that. Could that be the source of the problem?
possibly. Do you know the actual name of the FX these powers use? If so, you can probably side step the entire issue by locating those fx and installing them.
