Title: Tinkerbell and Other Sundries
Post by: BentonGrey on September 02, 2011, 05:52:35 AM
Howdy guys, I need a bit of help.  I've got a custom FF1 map, Dana's excellent library map, which I'm using in PC:Tales, a FF2 mod, but apparently I've got some problems with my template set up.  There are faerie lights scattered about the map which really make it look awesome, but my build doesn't recognize their templates.  I can't find the template in FF1 either, but I do have the object mesh in the right spot.  How do I need to set the template up for a little effect like that so that it will work properly in the game?

I think I can help you, B.

Are you trying to rebuild the template?

I can't even seem to find my library map in my missions folder.  I know I have it zipped up somewhere, but I guess I don't have it installed, anymore.

I'll PM you about it.

Dana

Hey guys, I'm trying to fix bugs in PCT for a full release of the first three episodes, and I've discovered that I'm missing something from the museum map.  This is an FF1 map by Gengoro that I adapted for this FF2 campaign after pulling it out of Goggles map pack.  I've managed to get it working pretty well, but I've discovered that I'm missing one object, and I can't figure out where it is.  The map uses fences from this directory: "library\area_speciff1\city\warehouse_objects\wire_fence\wire_fence.nif."  I've got all of the variations of that fence, but there is also a short fence section that I can't seem to find.  It isn't in that folder, and the template just points to the same .nif as the long version.  Can anyone help me out?

B,

There is a small fence (called fence_small_cu) in  :ff:'s city\columbia_uni_objects\detailed_objects folder and a short fence (called fence_short) in the city\central_park_objects folder.

Maybe it's one of those?

Hmm, nope, a quick test confirms it isn't either of those...here is an image of the map in question:

And here is a close up of the short fence piece:

Hmmm...Maybe it's the fence_unfrozen_short then, in the city\battery_park_objects folder?

Bingo Dana!  You are the Map Master....or would you prefer Master of Maps?  Haha, thanks man, that did the trick!
