Yeah, instead of trying to figure out what I had or hadn't shown in the other thread, I'm just making a new one. Cuz' that's how I roll.
Here's my old display for the original figs (Though they're pretty much positioned the same now, just in front of my tv... stupid KR keeps blocking the subtitles!), Including Courtnal 6, Ch'nybe, Kid Rocket, Tomato, Afghan Ant, and Flesheater (TUE for you unlearned heathens)
"Second wave" shots (and news, for those who aren't done) of Mahty, Murs, Ra's al Ghul (Movie Masters style), Randy Ripoff, Unko Man, and that other dude.
Ra's- Last I heard he was still only in assembly stage... with the Batman Legacy line being all over the place (The first wave of the line line has movie Gordon, Arkham Asylum Two Face and Batman, Golden age Joker, and ZOMG RAGE Batman) I think they're holding off until there for sure isn't going to be a Ra's.
Unko- Last I heard on this one, they changed the base body to ML Doc Ock... which is actually fairly well suited for Unko.
Jerkface- Just got a new sculpted pic of him, I'll be making a second post for that (so as not to clutter up the first post with his ugliness... >.> )
*pants* ok, now that that's over with, for anyone wanting to see their own character represented, you're in luck... I have a set of five questions for you to answer. The person who manages to get the most at the time I make my next order to loosecollector, or the first person to manage all five to MY specifications, gets to have their avatar included in the next batch. Now, these questions are a little different than they were when FR shut down (mainly because I had a computer crash around the same time and lost my saved copy) but I tried to make them similar enough I could carry over credit for Reep's 2 answers in case he wanted to try some of the others.
Question 1
As most of the hardcore Batman nerds will probably remember, Two Face made his memorable first appearance in the 66th issue of Detective comics. Some of the most geeky among those will also remember that, originally, Old Harvey's surname in the Golden age used to be Kent (which was only altered later on to avoid the assumption that he was related to Clark Kent). But how many among you can tell me which of the side characters named in the first Two Face arc ironically shares his name with an actor involved in bringing Harvey Dent's origin to our tv screens several decades later?
Question 2
If there's one thing I've learned from NCIS' Leroy Jethro Gibbs, there's no such thing as coincidence. Which two actors from Joss Whedon's "Firefly" would appear together in another SyFy Television series, once again playing a romantic couple?
Question 3
The Freedom Force community has endured a hell of a lot over the years. Constant hacking, trolls, n00bs, all manner of political craziness, and even a few supervillain takeovers. But can anyone tell me who Randy Ripoff's temporary assistant during his siege of the community was?
Question 4
Since Influx makes up a good portion of the figures I've been ordering, it's only fair that you should know a little bit about them. Tell me the real names of all five members of the core team (Tomato, Ch'nybe, Kid Rocket, Mahty, and Marauder)... and I warn you, the names I have down in their bios aren't all entirely correct >D .
Question 5
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep introduced us to the concept of the "X-blade," a keyblade forged in battle between light and dark, a weapon capable of opening the path to the true "Kingdom Hearts." However, the version shown in-game might still only be an imperfect form of the weapon. If such is the case, what two blades would be necessary to form the perfect "X-blade"?
Please PM me your guesses directly (we wouldn't want to give answers to anyone else would we?)
Current Lead: Hitman (3 correct answers)
Aaand now for the Prev pic. Keep in mind, this is an incomplete figure, so only hate it for the character it represents :P .

The toy based on my avatar is coming along well. Obviously not a hard thing to mess up. Look at all this beauty and handsomeness it has to work with.
Actually, I had to make them change it... see, originally they were doing it 100% accurate, but I decided I couldn't stomach looking at your face anytime I wanted to look at my figures, so I requested alterations.
Wow those new figures are looking great. I really dig Murs'.

Clearly, 'Mato, you never had any intention of commissioning a 100% accurate rendition of Prev, as the model above shows absolutely no sign of either his goiter or his gouty leg. Of course, you may have made some effort to capture Prev in all his glory; however, I'm experiencing the most welcome difficulty of not being able to determine whether the model is flatulent based on this photo alone.

All I got from this nonsense is that you're jealous and mad. Not my problem. Looks like Lane might have to take you out to get some air, but why should he when you're already full of the hot variety?
Listen, people, I can't help how you feel about me. YOU have to work on your own insanity, inanity, and extreme envy and get to a better place. It's a "you" problem, as in YOU are pathetic. YOU are sad. And finally, YOU need to move on. YOU all can't be this perfect. Not my fault. Know that. *disappears into the shadows with an evil laugh*

When you think about it, it makes sense....I mean, it is Prev. And when did I start inspiring hate?!?!?! HUH?!?!?! HUH?!?!?! Don't make me bust a cap in ya butt!!!
From all of that blarg I just read, I'm starting to think that Prev is just the wishful-thinking alter ego of ol' goopy Prer. They *did* both reappear right around the same time.
And I wouldn't say I *hate* Murs or DJ. Although, I am about ready to start electrifying everything around here, in preparation for the next time he pees on something ...... Murs, that is....don't think it would effect DJ much at all (but I'm sure he does pee on thing occasionally, and everyone just blames Murs.....and rightly so).
DJ is kinda like that one uncle at Christmas. The drunk one. The drunk, smelly uncle, that none of the kids want a present from, because it will be smelly, too. Like flat generic beer, stale Lucky Strikes smoke, and an oddly alternating aroma of urine and vomit. But nobody says anything to him, just to avoid the trench-mouth halitosis when he leans *way* too close into the personal space on a 15 minute rambling tirade that starts out about how everybody owes him, but usually ends up with him looking for a place to crash for the night, and a ride home in the morning.

Wow those look unbelievably awesome!
Wow..those are incredible. I love the variety of paint styles.
Very VERY sweet!
Unko's figure looks phenomenal. Wow.
Someone needs to comment on Prev's cape. Do you see that beach? So Purdy.
Really happy with how they both came out. I'm a tad disappointed in Unko's build (a bit slimmer than I'd have liked, but wevs.) but even so, you'd never believe the base is a riddler figure.
Oh, and the last little surprise? think machines, malls, and quarters.
Okay, Tomato. I'm here! OKAY?!
Wowie! You're right about the body on Unko, especially in the legs, but lookit those paint aps. So sparkly. And Prev's cape, too. Prev's looking very sweet all around, actually.
I am really diggin' the Madman's gun accessory too, by the by. Coincidentally, I have been picturing Unko with some sort of scifi gun more and more as of late.
It's not done yet though. Still waiting on LC to send me the final group pic (which will include one last addition... sort of an accessory for Unko-man)
If it's a gumball I am going to loose my poops.
Uhh... in a good way. In a way that people use that phrase to mean a good thing.

Wave 2 is now complete. Ra's has been put on hold-ish (We suspect they'll make a ninja ra's, so I'm just going to head swap that with one of the suited chars) so only 5 figs this wave. Wave 3 will be even smaller, as I'm kinda restricting my budget by a lot (long story) but expect ~4 figures.
And, as a reminder, the contest from the front page is still open until I receive these figures. In other words, you jerkfaces have that long to solve my riddles and beat out Hitman's 3/5 correct guesses.
Wow, those are just great. Everyone just looks so expressive.

Anyhow, yeah, these are very cool. Great stuff all around.

I don't know for certain, but looking at the unpainted pics he appears to be mostly made from stuff you'd find at a Chuck E Cheese or a dollar store... the base looks like one of those bouncy jimmies, and the hands/feet remind me of those cheap prizes you trade tickets in for. The legs are little sticks of pastic, and the arms are sculpted.
as for movement... if there is any movement, it's real simple. I didn't really specify either way (it's an accessory to Unko, not really a figure in it's own right) but I'd surmise that if it does move, it'll be up and down arms and rotating feet.
wow. I've seen some awsome stuff before, but this is over the top coolness!

Sorry, couldn't resist.
OK, just wanted to put the final touches on this thread (pictures of the current figure crop will come eventually, I'm currently holding off because the c6 figure has had an accident and I need to some mad science before he's ready to be photographed again) since, as I stated in the Ode to Benton thread, I'm just about to order the next, much smaller batch.
For those who were holding their breaths for this, here are the answers to my five questions:
#1- In Kent's origin, he is originally referred to plastic surgeon "A. Eckhart", who ironically shares his first initial (in a later story he's given the name Albert or sommat) and last name with Aaron Eckhart, who of course portrayed Harvey in The Dark Knight
#2- Jewel Staite and Sean Maher, who portrayed Kaylee and Simon respectfully
#3- Previsionary
#4- Jonathan Hansburg, Darek Barrie, Peter ((Censored)), Mahty Saki, and Yami Herotoshi. Yes, you would have had to know Peter's real last name to get credit :P
#5- The design of the X-blade is somewhat based on the Catholic symbol for the "Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven," which has two keys, crossed in the shape of an X. In this design however, there are two different keys... one silver and one gold. This would mean that, in order to create a more perfect X-blade, you would need to combine the Keyblade of Kight (aka Sora's Kingdom Key) and the Keyblade of Darkness (King Mickey's Kingdom-D blade)
LC is about to send me Wave 3 (which is only 3 figures this time, sorry to say) so I thought I'd show off the remaining two figures from the wave.

I assume it's half on the booze itself, and half on the public intoxication tickets he racks up every two weeks,
Just out of curiosity, what else is going to be included in the next wave?
I haven't completely decided yet, TBH. I definitely am gonna do J'edd J'arkus this time round (he got delayed this last batch) and CB, but I'm not sure if I want to do Aqualord, one last Influx char (I need a villain), or just do them both.

So as a little update, I JUST put in my order from Loosecollector... because he's got a kid now, the orders are limited to 3 at a time now. Since I only had three slots, I've been agonizing over what figures to do.
I finally decided to order Aqualord, Cyber Burn (who won the last contest and who I'm really excited to see a figure of), and a MU Polaris (She's the only one of the original X-men I don't have, and lets face it, she's never going to get an official figure.)

Man, that is the best I have ever looked.
And you still haven't gotten around to the DJ...hmmm...interesting.....

We do contests just about every year. It's not my fault no one loves you (http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=55963).

Yeah...I don't get that...is really annoying....or sad...or something...
If it makes you feel any better, I still don't have Podmark either, and I am terribly disappointed in the community over that fact.
It'd be pretty surreal to see a figure of my avatar self. I imagine it's much like many of you have felt.
Hey, very nice, 'Mato.

It is a really awesome feeling knowing that someone has spent the amount of money that 'Mato did to have a custom figure of my Avatar made. Seeing the finished product, I am just blown away. It's also a major, major, ego boost. :D
I think it would be an unbelievable feeling to actually own a figure like that, and I am truly honored to know that there has been a figure of my Avatar made.
That's one awesome looking custom figure.

No...doesn't make me feel any better....:(
The Cyber Burn figure looks great.
When I get access to a computer, I am so making this pic my new Avatar pic.
For those wondering what was going on with this latest batch, they're in the mail now. Final preview pics from LC:

Very sharp looking. I mean the way how well assembled they are is impressive, but the paint job is out of this world.
Cyber Burn never looked better.
And i recognize that Aquaman redesign of yours too.
Hahaha! If you add a few explosions behind Cyber, he'll look like an 80's action/sci-fi movie hero!
These are absolutely fantastic, Tomato! +5 Bunnies with a Pancake on Each of Their Heads for you
:bunny :bunny :bunny :bunny :bunny
Cyber Burn looks so cool.

I. Look. Freaking. AWESOME!!!
Technically this probably goes in my actual art thread, but it's relevant here too and I'd rather not go looking for that thread right now.
So as anyone who got nominated for the figure thing is already aware, I pre-emptively sent out PMs to every single person nominated in the last contest asking them which version of their avatars I should use. And while most got back to me pretty quick with a "definitive" avatar, Benton really didn't have an answer for me. So I figured I'd try my hand at one.

Obviously my rendition of Benton takes HEAVY influence from Unko's original avatar design, but I also took cues from SCD, Billdamn, and Juancho's redesigns as well.
Ohh, I like it! I really like the mixture of all the awesome designs that people have made for me over the years. I've always loved the color scheme that Unko chose, so this fits right in with that. I'd say it could perhaps use a bit more silver to spice up the black, but other than that, I think it's great!
Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you on this, 'Mato. I've had company this week, and I've had only a few minutes to use the computer at a time. Plus, I was fairly stumped myself on which version I wanted to see, but I like the direction you're going!
I'm not gonna lie man, if I was in your shoes, I would be too. Benton's had some very good designs over the years, and each has some really good elements to it.

Some minor tweaks. Nothing earth shaking, but I feel like they add up a bit.
The little touches are nice improvements.
I'm almost turned on by how hot Cyberburn turned out...almost.
So I've been talking to loose collector (the guy who does these amazing customs) and we've been discussing doing things a bit differently... instead of ordering figures in batches of 3-5, we're just going to cycle through figures one at a time. I'm ordering 2 to start with, and when he gets the first done we start hashing out a third while he's working on the second, etc. Less time between figures, fewer projects in case one (or both) of us need to step back or take a break, everyone wins.
I've sent him the first two I want (Haven't ordered Benton yet, since we're still hashing out the design) so we'll see how this goes.

Forgot to post this.
Awesome! I'm being immortalized in plastic! :D
Just lovely. I love the craft of custom action figure making. Keep up the good work. Also props to your Amiibo custom you shared in the showing off section. I'm working on Wario and Waluigi swaps for FFVTTR BTW, should be done before Sept.
Can't wait to see the finished figure. These are always great!

Loosecollector just sent me this photo the other day, and it looks like it's almost done.

That is REALLY cool! :o
