ok my 60gb ps3 i got back in 2007 has now YLOD. i'm resigned to my fate of either having to play to repair it and take the chance of it happening again or get a new one
but my question is what about my saved games i know downloads/psn and trophies are fine i can get them again
but i upgraded the HDD on it about a year and a half ago can i not just take out that and put it in the new ps3 and keep playing??
i'm just ticked off right now
I believe PS3 hard drives are transferable. My brother says you can put any SATA hard drive into a PS3.
YLOD? Yellow Light of Death?

Yep. It's not quite as common as the RROD, but it happens.
Yep, you can use any laptop sized SATA hard drive in a PS3. I'm guessing you should be able to swap out the drive with your old one since it came from the same system without having to reformat it. I could be wrong but thats my guess. It won't hurt it try.
I'd guess that wouldn't be the case for a drive from a different PS3... but once again don't know for sure.
