with the news Marvel has announced that because of the hype, FF can be sold on Tuesday as retailers get the issue.
so now that the "3" arc is finishing who's your money on ending up 6 feet under
My money's on Sue. She's been the glue that holds the team together for so long, her "death" would be really the only fresh (ish) story.
I haven't been keeping up with comics that much (in a lot of ways because of "events" like this), but my guess is gonna be No-one, as a year or two from now, said dead person is coming back to life and we will all be right back where we started. Death means nothing in comics, which in turn has made death storylines mean nothing to me. Now I would respect them if they made death permanent -- but I just don't see it happening.
But if I was gonna take a shot in the dark having no knowledge of what was going on I'm gonna say Mr. Fantastic -- simply because all the hoopla makes it sound like they are trying to shock and go big.
My guess is Johnny, although the other big rumour is it will be all three of Reed, Sue and Johnny leaving only Ben.
I've read that Fantastic Four 600 is only 12 issues away, so the rumour is that the deaths and the upcoming FF title will only last those 12 issues.
Anyone reading Fantastic Four? I've heard good things.
I've got similar track as Goggles, wherein I wish we'd get more permanent deaths. I don't have a huge problem with resurrections but when you have a death in a story that gets all hyped up and then the characters are back in a year or two then it comes off really lame.

All of them dieing would be awesome. I'm sick, I know.

It's good-ish. There's some average issues, and there's some excellent issues. The children are the most interesting and entertaining aspect of Hickman's run on the title so far. That's pretty much why I don't mind if Sue, Reed, Johnny, and Ben bite the dust. More spotlight on the children.
Gotta love press sites who reveal who the character is in the friggin headlines. <_<

yeah i seen that bravo marvel way to build up the big event
My guess is it'll be Johnny.
Reed and Ben have been killed off before, except in Reed's case he wasn't really dead. Killing off Ben again would be really dumb, and while I wouldn't mind Reed being killed off again if he actually dies, I don't think they'll go that route.
Sue is the only female member of the team. Killing off the token on a team is usually not a good idea.
You don't really need to guess at this point. It's happened, and been spoiled all over the place.
It really should be Reed, but it wont be.
Totally called it. http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=54244.0 (http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=54244.0)
Maybe its time to bring back the Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk and Ghost Rider version of the team. Maybe with She-Hulk in place of Bruce.

I do wish the team "unofficially" expanded beyond the four, you know, have some more heroes that are with the team half the time. Four is a little claustrophobic, not to mention 3.
I think it was a Skrull.
Or a LMD.
Or an evil extra-dimensional twin.
Or a clone.
Or Toro's son.
Or we didn't see what we think we did, and it will all be explained.
Lessee... what other "explanations" could they give when they bring him back?

Superboy Prime punched reality. (it worked for Jason Todd)
Scarlet Witch said "No more dead Human Torch!" (it worked for Hawkeye)
The Torch will return as a Black Lantern and will be resurrected later (it worked for Aquaman, and, well anyone Geoff Johns wanted alive.)
Sue will get a cosmic cube and think about Johnny (it worked for Toro).
And the list goes on and on...
You guys are mean. It's Jonathan Hickman. He's a ridiculously good plotter (not necessarily a good character man) and has done the Fan 4 well enough that people like them again after the horrendous Mark Millar run (so bad). Having read the issue, I can't say that the "death" of a character I really like was done amazingly well. Yes, he sacrificed himself to protect a group of kids and a fan4 member, but he didn't go out in a glorious show. At the same time though, I'm used to characters like him and Iceman conveniently forgetting their vast array of powers and just allowing themselves to be overwhelmed.
That said, Mark Millar/Hickman left at least 2 immediate outs in the actual books. One is that a helper of the fan 4 still resides in the negative zone, and the other is that Valeria and a repowered Franklin promised to come back for the fallen member. We'll see if this death sticks around the time of the big 600 mark. Hey, he might even come back a few issues after 600... and the world will continue to spin. At least Marvel got a new story out of this! You know they like to be in the news for temporary sales boosts!
I think its a dream and hes gonna come out the shower looking like Patrick Duffy.
Or perhaps wake up in bed next to Suzanne Pleshette.

I'll take #2. :D
Nova asks the Big G for a favor, who calls in a marker from Death.
........ what? it's still way more believable than Peter making a deal with Mephisto. <_<
Now now; we all know that he's going to come back in a year. Otherwise it wouldn't be a comic, now would it? ;)

They brought Frankie Raye back in the Heralds mini series, didn't they? Or are you guys talking about Richard Rider who's still dead as far as I know hehe.
I'm really glad Sue didn't die though, not that I think Johnny will stay dead, Franklin should see to that... I mean even Galactus is worried about Franklin's powers... so yeah something is coming up with that.

Couldn't get it out of my mind. And I found images of a Black Lantern Cap, too.
Maybe now Herbie can take his proper place on the team.
Oh come on. We all know it wasn't really him. It was Xorn's evil twin brother, pretending to be him, pretending to be Xorn. What? Different comic? Oh, nevermind then.
I'm not a betting man; nevertheless, I've placed good money (my son's entire college fund, in fact) on Crystal. What's with that stain on her hair, anyway?

I've never understood Inhuman fashion trends. :P

Just read it and can't stress how disappointed I was in this. How can a man who can burn like a super nova be overcome by waves of aliens? You can't even get too close to a burning building without withdrawing from the heat.
Let alone they had just given Franklyn back his powers, so why didn't he change the whole thing? Or do we need a Fan4 Reborn II for Johnny new return?
And re-doing the Kirk-Spock scene with the hands touching each side of the barrier? Seen it already.
Lastly, after this big build up - and special issue in the same black bag, different logo, used when Doomsday killed Superman --why the bigger build up for POINT ONE issues of Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man,, etc. ... without even a mention of Fan4 or 3 or whatever it is now.
In my opinion - instead of a big Superman-death level media event, this was a little burp in the nightfall of what once the World's Greatest Comic Magazine - and a slap in the face of anyone who ever cared for these characters.
I think I'm done.
AncientSpirit, most comics today suck the big one. I don't really read them as much as I used too. No freaking way should Johny go down like he did. Waves of aliens? Big freaking deal, a supernova blast and you have charred ashes were waves of aliens used to be. Most writers today are terrible and without imagination. I bet the people in this community could come up with far superior stories.
They didn't exactly show him die. He could have gone super nova. Believe me, I was thinking the same thing. Bugs + Supernova = The pesticide industry going out of business in the Negative Zone, amiright?
The hyperbole inferno is getting near critical mass again, so I'll throw a little water on it: most comics always have sucked the big one. Most writers always are terrible and without imagination. What are actually quality books, comics, movies, TV shows, plays, poems, songs, cave art, etc., have always been in the minority.
In other news, young people use curse words, disrespect their elders, and things cost more than they used to.
bought the FF book. not impressed. yeah, why not go nova and fry them all? but, once the door closed he could have...they just didnt show any more. he's not dead.

Ha! Did you see that there? I was right: hordes of alien lifeforms, in the conservatory, with the candlestick--Crystal, dead as an Inhuman doornail. ^_^
