Title: Composite Superman
Post by: freegentile on January 13, 2011, 12:28:40 PM
Might someone slideth me the mesh for Ren's Composite Superman? It actually is one of the pictures that still shows on the Toybox, but, alas, it is not obtainable. Thank you!

Why isn't there a yahoo group with all of those meshes? It's been almost two years since the Toybox closed.

Gotta chime in to agree, here. I seems like more than half of whats on this board nowadays is comprised of people just asking for someone to send them meshes.

not to casue problems, but didnt renegade say that he was planning something for his meshes? if i'm wrong, then has anyone contacted him to see if he will give permission for a group to be created in his name? again, i'm not trying to casue problems, but i just want to make sure noone feels stepped on or disrespected.

Ive never understood this, really. How could something like this be construed as being disrespectful? The entire point of it is that everyone (and I mean everyone, me included) really, really likes these meshes, and that it would be nice and much more convenient if they were all in one place with easy access. And by that I mean just some Yahoo Group. I could understand him not wanting them to be on a full blown site like Champions or Hero Force or New Power, since he might like to have them showcased at his own site. However, since he has no new site, and hasnt had one in years and as far as I am aware, isnt in contact with anyone about throwing a new site up since the one time he mentioned it years ago, I really dont see what problem he might legitimately have with people just putting them in a Yahoo group. Its not like anybody is trying to steal anything.

Just my thoughts.

Also, not to cause problems, it's not like he doesn't already have a few Yahoo groups.

If he would allow it, call it something like Toybox Revisited or Toybox Archive or something. When he comes back with a new website, close the Yahoo group.

Although, looking at his profiel, he hasn't been here since September; I hope he's okay. He was checking in periodically.

Perhaps someone should check, if they have an e-mail address for him.

Well, maybe we should ask if he still feels that way.

He honestly might just have lost interest with the game altogether.

Its nothing on him, Im just saying it would be nice to be able to get those meshes without going through the trouble that asking for specific things to be sent via e-mail entails.

look you're welcome to try but honestly when the toybox went down a lot of people myself included offer ren hosting and a place on his site. he declined and most of us left it at that

I got to admit, I'm in the "respect his wishes" category.

That said, I do have quite a few of his meshes and would be happy to help those in need if I can.

Thanks for the help here, guys. Got the mesh. It is interesting that you can still access the site & get things here & there...which means there is an web site provider in place & they're being paid to keep the site up. As foundational as his work is to the FF community, you'd think there'd be a list made of everything missing & we could all pitch in to fill in the gaps in the site content. Like each person sign up to take one mesh on the "missing" list & if someone else signs up for that mesh, pick another. Dare to dream  :)

Man, Scorp, sorry re: that, you're right. My bad. I thought I had still grabbed ShazFx off of there recently, but me = mistaken. Thanks for setting me straight.

You mean you can still get stuff off of there?

Huh. I thought all that stuff was gone from there.

I was referring to this site...for instance, I can download Superman True Brit...but watch that be the only thing available in the whole archive    :)

Some links are still working, I got the batarang and Shazam fx and some keyframes. I'll check some meshes now.
It's a great discovery, freegentile, thanks!
