Howdy guys, I'm working on the Wrecking Crew, and I was wondering what insights y'all might have for their builds. I like to make my herofiles distinct, and I'm having a bit of trouble with these guys. Their powers are relatively easy, but their attributes give me pause. Here's what I've got at the moment. What do y'all think?

What do y'all think? As they are right now they give my Thor a serious challenge. I have to use a heropoint as often as not.
One of our fine friends, can't remember if it was herodad, usagent, or hoss...had a slew of herofiles he had made available to me & others. He distinctly had all the Wrecking Crew on there. I've used them & they behave pretty accurately. That's odd that you mention them vs. Thor since that was the match-up that was recently in the Thor mini-episode of that newest cartoon take on the Avengers...World's Mightiest Heroes, I believe is part of the title. Anyway, I can send you those if you're interested in test-driving, but I think your take...as always...is spot-on & will work just fine.

Well thank you FG, both for your compliments and for offering to send me those herofiles, but I actually used USAgents files as the basis for my builds. ^_^ I do that whenever I can because he does such great work. However, I usually like to rename and rebalance powers, and I almost always add several new powers and attributes. I actually decided to pick these guys back up after having watched their appearance in the new Avengers cartoon. They did a great job of portraying both the Crew and Thor, and that made me want throw them together in FF.
i gave my wrecking crew a level 6 strength level also. as far as the marvel universe goes the wrecker by himself is 40 ton strength but when he's shared his power with the crew, him and them are only 10 ton strength. i try to give my characters strength levels in game according to the MU stats. my thor is a level 10 in game. :)
Physical Resistance is a good trait to use. I don't like Invulnerablity. Good to see it PR in there, Benton.
My guys only have one or two powers at most, unless they need more, so I don't have anything constructive to add about your power selection.
I'm curious why you chose Radioactive and Temperature Control for the Wrecker? Stan and Jack were pretty creative with powers way back when, and I usually avoid replicating one use powers (like Thor's magnetic/gravity control powers) or Reed Richard's 'master of the martial arts' power.
I dont have much problem with the magnetic-gravity powers for Thor, and that kinda all ties in with the whole storm god thing, and even if it didnt, he is a hero who's powers come from magic.
As for the WC, when I did them in :ff:, I just gave the Wrecker a 6 in strength, everyone else gets a 5. They really are just overgrown thugs who are only really dangerous to powered heroes when they drastically overpower them or outnumber them. They have low agility, and the Weak Mind attribute. One on one with my Thor, they got no chance in hell. All of them together, they have a good chance to knock him down, and keep him down for the count.

Yeah, I try and match my characters to their RPG stats too. I make heavy use of Ben Riley's Marvel RPG page when I'm creating herofiles. I often have to tweak that for balance reasons (especially at the top and bottom of the scale), but it provides a great starting point for building.

I have really come to love physical resistance. It's just a great attribute for making characters tough, but not so tough that nothing can hurt them. In the DCUG I used a mix of both, a few points of invulnerability and PS (which made for a really excellent Superman, in my opinion), but I'm trying for a different feel in my Marvel builds. After all, Thor is very tough, but he doesn't seem to have the clear-cut invulnerability of Superman. The same goes for the Thing. As for the Wrecker's attributes, USAgent had those in his herofile, and I just kept them. I wasn't sure about it, but I trusted his judgment. Rapsheet does have this to say about the Crew:
QuoteThe Asgardian enchantments have provided Thunderball with some resistance to cold, heat, fire, corrosives and toxins.

Hmm...do you think I should lower their agility? Yeah, Thor could clean any one of their clocks, but all together they can dog-pile him and hurt him. I think I'll give a few of them Weak Minded...maybe Piledriver and Bulldozer?
I have similar stats for the Wrecking Crew. Bulldozer, Piledriver and Thunderball all have 5(str), 5(spd), 4(agl), 7(end), 5(engy). The Wrecker is a little higher 7, 7, 5, 7, 7. All have Physical Resistance, which all-in-all makes them pretty tough. Like Scorpion, one on one against Thor, they don't stand much of a chance, but four on one and they're able to take him out.
But it's always interesting to find that balance between being really durable and being practically invulnerable and of course being Invulnerable. Though Thor isn't as invulnerable as a Superman(or more accurately the Hulk), he still should be able to go toe-to-toe with them. But yet, weak enough not be able to take on all of the Wrecking Crew.
