Title: R.I.P. Marmeille (1994-2010)
Post by: Marmeille on December 06, 2010, 08:32:05 PM
My sixteen year old cat passed away this weekend, she had a good life and we spent lots of happy moments together, I'll never forget her that's for sure.

That's......that's......I don't even know what to say, that's what that is.   :(  Very sad to hear this.  Mine just turned 16 in October, and she is definitely unique.  She seems to hate anyone that takes my attention away from her, and sometimes isn't too fond of me, either.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.  My cat has been with me for 12 of her (estimated) 13 years and I know how close we are.  She's family, just like what Marmeille must have been to you.  My most heartfelt condolences.

My condolences, Marm!  We have three felines and two canines and it breaks my heart to think of loosing any of them.

(But, man, Marm, you scared me to death - the main forum index had room to list only "R.I.P. Marmeille."  I clicked in expecting very different news . . .)

I'm sorry to hear this and for your loss.  I grew up on a farm and we lost many animals over the years and it is something you never get used to as you get used to your pets and livestock.  My condolences and warm thoughts to you.

No words can really relieve the sorrow you feel, but know that we do understand, and we sympathise with your grief.

I'm very sorry to hear it.  Pets are wonderful companions and their passing is tough to handle.

I lost both my cats within the last two years.  The loss of my first cat was pretty rough.  I got a new cat from the humane society the day my second cat died.  I was still sad about his passing but it was much easier with a new kitty in the house.  I think the needs of the new pet drive the depression out of you.  My new cat got herself trapped in the cold air return duct the first day she was in my home.  She thought it was fun.  I know this because I could hear her purring.  I was distressed.  I tore apart my cold air return and lured her out with some food.  That really took my mind off of feeling sad that day.

Sorry to hear that... I've got a 16 year old cat in my life and while I do everything in my power to keep him healthy and happy (even make his catfood from scratch) it does make me misty eyed to think that one day he will pass away. My condolences and I hope you feel better.

Pets are wondrous creatures - veritable members of the family, and their lives pass all too quickly.  Sincere condolences on your loss, Marm.

My condolences. I've been through that more than once, and am glad both my current cats are young (though Luna's almost 7 now... Hard to believe...). Losing a friend is always hard, human or otherwise. I'm glad she had a good, happy life.

I'm so sorry to hear that.  She was a part of you and a part of this group.  I still have the skin you made of her for FF.

My condolenses Marm, its always very sad to lose a pet.  Sixteen years is a good innings though, and a sure sign that you looked after her well.

Like Uncle Yuan, my heart froze in my chest when I first saw that title pop up, and while I'm very relieved to see that you are still with us, I am also truly sorry for your loss.  We lost my cat Ron not that long ago, and he had been such a part of our lives...well, I understand what a loss this kind of thing can be.  Our prayers are with you.
