Its been a little while,but I'm still skinnin' ;)
Couple originals for my own Golden Age story,1st is the son and sidekick of my hero Gold Eagle,Silverhawk.

Next up is some Flash villains I've been working on, a very colorful one 1st ;) A redo of the very first skin I made :cool:

  Very subdued and dark colors with a certain elegance to them. I like them very much actually.

Great work man. Very clean and sleak design for Silverhawk but I gotta ask...where's the silver? :P Just the chest emblem? I'd maybe make the lighter gray areas silver and possibly loose the belt.

I had thought about that when I was working on him,didn't because I thought it might be too flashy,but now since you suggested it too :cool:I think I'll do another with silver and see how he turns out.

Today I have a WIP,very early stage,I just wanted some opinions on what I have so far.This is my 1st true attempt at a base skin so it will probably take a while to do,plus I have a lot of fur to skin ;)

His name is "Clover",I already have 3 fx made for him(yep my first fx too :D)and a voice pack is well under way.I have 3 skins planned out just need to do his base 1st.
Mainly though I'm not sure if his belly button looks right or if I should move it down some and do his eyes and nose look ok?

I like the face, I agree that the belly button should be a bit lower, and the toes kind of seem a bit off. This is a really good start, I look forward to seeing the progress on this.

Really like your original designs Blood, very iconic and clean. The textures look very good on your Weather Wizard as well.

Ha, I love the name "Road Rage" for an evil speedster.  That's good stuff, and I really like the basic design of these two guys, however, they are so similar that I feel like something isn't quite right.  They look like two members of the same team, rather than a good guy and a rogue.  You've got some great work here, Bloodshadow.  I really like that Weather Wizard!

Great job on these two guys. I like how seemlessly the chest/neck area flows. I do agree with Benton on Road Rage though. I think it's the color, yellow and red are just too close on the color charts (IMO). I would seperate them a little more, kind of symbolic of the seperation of their friendship. But either way, I would love to see these guys in game.

The speedster designs look great Blood, i'm picking up a bit of a Flash/ Reverse Flash connection between the uniforms which works for me.

the flash/zoom similarities hit me at frist too. but after looking over the costumes again, i think the colors may have been a bit better suited to just being flipped. but i think you have some great designs here. the design is really strong as well as streamlined. nice.

Unfortunately the reason I haven't replied sooner,my hard drive crashed. :angry:Now I have a new comp,but its going to take a long time to reload everything,especially since I have to get used to windows 7 now :angry:
I lost a lot of my recent skins and my new power fx :angry:
I did manage to save Blindspot and Road Rage thanks to a friend so its not all bad news,just mostly bad :(

You gotta give your self more credit here. The face has a real arrogant look to it as well. Nicely done.

I hesitate to suggest anything, but if I had to, maybe just lighten up a bit of the darkness under the eyes? Just a thought.

Yeah, the little smirk is great.  I do agree with ShawDaman, though.  You can improve her face, and I think lightening up on the shading you've done around her eyes will help that.  At the moment, I think her brow is too heavily shaded.  You're sort of losing the eyebrow in there.  The costumes are excellently done. :)

There IS a mesh for the Hunter. Tommyboy created it.. it's in his Legion mod. I have to re-download that.

I can skope some hair onto a vxHuman_Torch, if you'd like. You can skin Sun Emperor and Mist Master on it. I'll skope it up and send it to your email.

Just an update,I'm still working on more Legion Of Supervillains (getting back to them now)but I've been doing more originals and spending a lot more time at the drawing table.I'll have some previews of some of my new originals in a day or so and probably more LSV within a week or so.My friend that was helping me make our mod dropped out,so I'll probably just preview and release the skins,fx and map here pretty soon as the mod probably won't ever be made :(

You could always release everything AND the mod story and see if somebody wants to do the coding. I mean, if the resources are already done, right?

This is a work in progress,I still have a lot more I want to do,just wanted to show off CyberBurn's awesome skope and get a little feed back on my new design.This design took me a long time to really get the look I was going for but I am more than happy with the result.(which was difficult because I was competing with an unbelievably bad a$$ design that Courtnall6 created for me years ago)
The overall design is an amalgam of a lot of personal loves such as....
the Red &Black color scheme=my love of the Chicago Bulls
the Batcape and glove blades=my love of DC comics (Batman)
the dragon symbol and fighting skills=my love of Marvel comics (Iron Fist)
with all that in mind I also wanted to make a full origin story and rogues gallery and really put some time into the development of my avatar.I've already got quite a few villains in the works and will be posting my origin story here when I post the final version of this skin.
Just wanted to give you guys a little idea where I'm going with the whole idea,Thank you in advance for your comments. :cool:

The new Avatar look great Bloodshadow, but you're giving me way to much credit for the skope, it's just a stripped down Batman_Gren mesh with some extras added on.

Love the new avatar design, and I'm always a sucker for red/black costumes. Skin is nice and clean, about the only thing I'd change is maybe ad some depth to the belt, but it looks fine as-is. Also, props on the cast shadows from the belt and hood, they really do add to the skin.

I'm with ya on that,I went with orange and black to resemble a road hazard sign but never have been totally happy with him thanks to the colors.Color combinations seems to be the hardest part of creation for me.

This is my alternate version of Cyber Burn's avatar,which I made because I wanted to start doing some avatars to give a little back to the community here that has been a part of my life for 10 years and who better to start with than Cyber Burn.He has helped me many times when I've needed skopes done,I see him constantly helping other members whether it be skoping,character ideas,sending skins,etc. and the guy NEVER asks for anything in return.I can't think of anyone more deserving of recognition,Thanks for all your efforts Cyber :cool:
P.S. I'm really glad you like it,I tried to stay faithful to your original design but at the same time put in some of my own design style and I think it turned out pretty cool. :D

Those speedsters are very nice, I really like the logo on the Streak's costume. The alternate version of Cyber Burn's avatar looks great, that's a cool redesign.

And nice work on Cyber's avatar! It was really cool of you to do that. You're right...he consistently bends over backwards to help out his fellow FFers. I think most of us owe him a great deal of gratitude for one good deed or another.

Cyber, you've been a great friend and member of the community since you joined, and I don't think there's a single person who has earned as much respect around here as you have. I think I've mentioned this before, but I have never seen the members of this community as upset as they were that one time someone tried to take advantage of you... I thought Benton was going to start chewing the furniture.

I'm working on an original villain team I'm calling "The Death Squad" right now,I've got Skullcrusher and Pyre done,but still got a lot to do on Ritual and haven't even started Apparition yet.I should have a pic up within a couple days though,til then what do you think of Windblown?

I really like the skins and designs for both Cyber Burn and Windblown. You've got a great eye for design.

but and i guess i'm gonna be the bad guy they dont seem to have any pop factor. the colours of some like CB's red or the whites on windblown seem kinda flat, and its a very easy fix they just need a little bit of highlights. it would offset the dark tones and give it a bit of more punch

Ultimate Evil -There's nothing wrong with that assessment. It certainly doesn't make you the bad guy. I think most of us are open to constructive criticism from other skinners.

Personally, I think highlights are a double-edged sword; mostly, they are great and they add depth to the skin, but they can be way overdone too. For example, sometimes I see a skin that has a highlight or two in impossible places. That kind of thing gives me a facial tick.  :banghead: In my opinion, I wouldn't change Bloodshadow's Windblown skin, because (to me) it just looks like it's made of a less reflective material than the design features on the chest and arms. I think the contrast looks kind of cool. It would look cool with seams up the sides of the solid blue part, though. The new Cyber Burn avatar, however, I might have used a muscular base for the white parts of the costume and beveled the edges of the red parts.

All in all, Bloodshadow, that Windblown skin is absolutely my favorite original design ever: It's clean, it's elegant, it's not overdone...and I hope you release it so i can play with it!  :thumbup:

I'm having some problems with my last two Death Squad members and my next avatar is taking a little longer than I expected so until one of those is ready I give you a redesign of an old original of mine called Flashfire.

I think it looks good as is in regards to the hair, and the mask is really well done. But if you really want hair on the mesh, if you happen to find hair that you would want on it, let me know, I could try to skope it on for you.

Beyonder's "Male Hair Bangs" looks a lot like that. It uses male Basic kf. It has also been converted to FFv3R if that's what you need (for those of you who don't know, early attempts to convert Beyonder's "hair" meshes did not work).

Bloodshadow - I have a vxFlash_West with hair skoped onto it (thank you again Cyber Burn!). All you'd have to do it hex off the ear thingies. Would you like a copy?

Flashfire is a classic Bloodshadow, you're on a roll!

Flashfire has a cool design but I definitely think you should skope on some hair. Either Beyonder's male hair bangs, Ink's Kyle Rayner or Zeigel should do the trick.

hey guys,I'm back up and running again two computers later.The first was my fault and the second was the computer but now I'm on a new system,a lot more organized and backing up way more often so I don't lose stuff again.
I've got a lot to preview over the next few days so I'm just going to go a little at a time but most of it is DC characters and the rest is a few new originals.
First up,just to get him out of the way because he's the only hero among all these skins and because I'm very happy with how he turned out.He is on Afghan Ant's Beast Boy skope in the outfit from Judd Winick's "Old Friends" storyline in Titans,and so Beast Boy

These are great. The only thing I would change is where the red and white meet - add a highlight or slight shadow to make the line work pop. I can't wait to see the rest Blood.

I really like how he turned out,still got some work to do to his belt but other than that he's about done.The main change is his symbol which I changed because I just didn't like how the last one looked on him.

Thanks for the input guys but I have to give credit where credit is due,I'll take credit for the design but the skin only looks so awesome because of Murs fantastic base,most of the credit goes to him and Courtnall on my skins.Without these bases I wouldn't be making anything good.

I planned on doing more detail work on the extras for him and the Sinestro Corps version as well but definitely plan on adding more depth to the bands on both.About the face,Thanks!that is definitely the most alteration to a base I've done and I was amazed it turned out so good :D
I will probably release the base along with the others in the pack when I'm done so that anyone who wants can use it to make their own Sinestros ;)

The face work on Sinestro is spot on awesome. I love seeing custom facial work on Skins, it adds a lot of depth to the characters. Also, I would love to see that released as a base, hopefully it will encourage other people to make an attempt at Skinning.

Still working on my Sinestros,I even started a Red Lantern Sinestro of my own design,after that I'll be doing a Guy Gardner pack and Red Daughter of Krypton plus somewhere in there I'll be doing my Red and Black Lantern versions of my avatar as well.I also want to skin all the New Guardians(Saint Walker,Star Sapphire,Iroque,Arkillo and White Lantern Kyle)yep,I'm gonna be busy skinning lanterns for a while ;)

I'd like to see that White Lantern Kyle Rayner, Bloodshadow! His Red Lantern version don't look too shabby either. Nice linework on your Rankorr there!

Thanks guys,I haven't posted anything lately because of some really frustrating problems with a few of my Sinestros and Larfleeze.(not burnt out,just frustrated :banghead:)
So I took a little break from doing Lanterns and made a bunch of originals,some I will preview in a day or two but there are a bunch that I want to wait until all three teams are done before I preview them.I've made 17 skins in the past week and have about twelve more to go on an idea that just sorta happened a week or so ago ;)
It started as a small skin project for fun and has sort of grown from there into a lot of fun.It started with the idea that I wanted to match my team of originals up against the Xmen in the danger room,when I did it just didn't feel right having my originals taking on established mainstream characters so I decided to create my own original versions of the original Xmen, I finished that team and it sparked some ideas for the team from Giant Size Xmen and so began the second team which I'm about done with but now I've got a bunch more ideas for a third and possibly fourth team as well :wacko:

I really like the costume designs.  Simple, yet effective.

You, sir, have a great flair for costume design. Not only are the costumes all very well implemented, but the story concept is very interesting. You have me eagerly awaiting the next preview, and more so, you have drooling for a release.

I think the stand out here is the Cybernetic "Red Eye", if you don't mind me asking, what Mesh is that on?

I've been busy with a living room remodel (that was supposed to be just a new paint job,the wife got me again :doh: ) so the next couple days is gonna be busy for me but I'll be back with some new Red Lanterns mid week or so :cool:

I'm not a "Storm" fan, but this updated re-design looks great, much better than the Character that she is based on.

"Iron Curtain" looks great, I'm a major Colossus fan, so I'm always eager to see something new done with him. Great job on the hair and beard. I can't wait to see the alternate costumes for him.

I'd recommend getting the color/brightness of highlights on your female skins to match the male ones!

Today I have a new original for you guys,I've been wanting an archer for a new group I'm working on,The colors are a nod to Hawkeye and Green Arrow but also because I'm trying to play around with color combinations that I haven't used much or at all before to make a more colorful group.And so here is the archer I named "Arrowhead"

Your Line Work just never ceases to impress, and I've always been a fan of your original Characters. Is that Gren's "SSup_Black_Archer_Gren" Mesh? Did you skin the Sky Cycle as well?

Also, if you don't mind a suggestion, I think the belt and leg strap would greatly benefit from being Skoped on. I think it would add a little more definition and depth to the Skin in general, but like I said, it's just a suggestion.

And lastly, I really have to agree with ShortFuse, the color combination works very well.

I will not hesitate to admit that I am really looking forward to the release of all these Characters that you have been previewing.  :D

I would love to add the belt and strap but don't have skoping ability and I hate asking you guys to take time away from your creations to help with my originals ( I really need to get back to reading tutorials and practicing so I can swap parts myself )

Throw him onto a Mesh with some Particle Emitters, and Hell Hound would be perfect.

As far as Arrowhead goes, I'd be glad to throw a belt and leg strap on him, as long as you don't mind waiting until next weekend.

The Night Guard group has been changed to "The Power Corps" so they will be in their own folder because really the whole idea blew up into something way bigger than I originally envisioned.I now have four teams that make up the PC Alpha,Omega,Gamma & Delta, each one is patterned after an X team lineup so yeah you can definitely use pre existing Xmen hero files although one of the teams is based on the Brotherhood.

Hell Hound when created was envisioned to be a mix of Sabretooth & Red Hulk, a bloodthirsty killer that puts off more and more heat the angrier he gets. I hadn't put much more thought than that into him, kinda hit a roadblock on ideas for him :(

I've created a whole bunch of new characters and storylines for them over the last couple years with most of the design work in my sketchbook, but I've recently returned to skinning to bring them all to life now in FF, some are definitely just alternate versions of preexisting Marvel and DC characters but some are my own original creations and designs.
