While I'm still facing a lot of problems with my pc, my Cap Mod is finally getting somewhere. I already finished the 4 Missions of the first story arc, so I wanted to post some screen shots:

The first story arc is loosely based in cap's 65th anniversary special and features Cap, Bucky and Sgt Fury fighting alongside anti-nazi german resistance fighters against the Red Skull and his minions. I tried to follow Ed Brubaker's lead and mixed some realistic threats (nazi soldiers, tanks, etc) with some larger than life opposition (robots, armors, super villains like Master Man). Looks like Cap and Bucky will have their hands full.
The other story arcs will feature post-war missions with different opponents and different versions of Captain America, but all the missions will be linked in a larger story.
Looking good John. The 65th anniversary special wasn't that the one where they fight that giant robot? That was pretty good.

Thanks, Pod.
Yup, it's exactly that story (but I didn't used the giant robot, only a lot of smaller ones. Budget limitations, you know... ;) )
For the guys who didn't read the special, I recommend it, it's a pretty good read.

This looks awesome.
Very cool stuff, JJ.
Will we be getting a sneak peak at the Invaders in the mod?
Thanks guys. I'm glad you liked it.
LP,
No, the Invaders won't show up, but I have plans for the post War All-Winners Squad.
That tooks like an interesting/fun mod. I also appreciate the talking heads :)
I'm a fan of your mods JJ, so this sounds really good. (I'm a Cap fan too, so even better)

Thanks, Panoramac. I'm a big fan of Tommyboy's talking heads too. We are very lucky to have talented people like Tommy and Bearded making talking heads for our mods.

I'm a Cap fan since I discovered super-heroes, so you can bet I'll do my best to make him justice, CB. Thanks for the kind words.
After a lot of RL problems and some bugs, I finally could finish Mission 5.
Captain America (Jeff Mace) and Golden Girl in 1948, facing some very well equipped thugs.

John, my friend, it's nice to see you're still at it. I'm sorry you're having RL problems and I hope those are cleared up as smoothly and as quickly as possible. Wishing you luck, sir.

You can get some info about Jeff here:

And Golden Girl here:

Or you can read "Captain America: Patriot", it's a very good mini series, with great story and art.
CB and Prev,
Thanks for the good wishes, guys. Things will settle down, sooner or later (I hope). Meanwhile the mod is coming, very slowly, but I really want to finish it.
You are a modding machine, JJ!
Dana
Hey! It looks like this is really coming together JJ! I'm getting behind. I've got to find time to play through the rest of your latest awesome mod before this new one comes out. I see that you're putting your excellent Bucky skope and skin to good use there. This idea of multiple Caps interests me. I'm not really familiar with most of the others to bear the shield.
Spoiler
I bet you'll finish this before I finish that one project of mine. ^_^
Thanks, Dana and Benton.
I like a lot the concept of different Captain Americas, with different personalities and M.O.s too, Benton. Ed Brubaker used the differences between Steve and Bucky as a base for several good subplots in the regular "Captain America" comic and Karl Kesel is exploring Jeff Mace's tenures as Cap in the "CA: Patriot" mini, so I had a good deal of reference for my main characters. Golden Girl is the only one giving me trouble, since I read only one of her Golden Age appearances.
Hey John, especially looking forward to this Mod. There was a great Cap Annual in the early 80s that had various Caps taken out of time and interacting/ clashing.

Thanks, it's great to know there's someone who like my work. In fact, your post motivated me so much I'm almost done with the All-Winner's mission.
I read the annual, I don't liked some characterizations (specially Jeff Mace's), but the story is good and was very interesting see all that Caps together.
I'm moving slower than a turtle, but...
Mission 6 is done.
The All-Winners Squad in action:

Keep up the fantastic work JJ!
Looking very cool, JJr. I love the All-Winners Squad (as well as DC's All-Star Squadron) so I can't wait to try this out.
I'm making the final adjustments to Mission 7, with The Falcon, The Black Widow and James "Bucky" Barnes as the new Captain America.

Thanks a lot, guys. Your feedback alway give me some (very needed) extra energy to finish the mod.
It's done and released.
We wanted to get it done at time for Christmas, so I had to work some extra hours, and Prev. was kind enough to get it in FRP2 in the same day.
http://frp.unlimited2.net/john-jr-presents-captain-america-legacy/
Good old thank you list:
-The Phantom Bunburyist. His amazing theme song for the Mod was quite an inspiration when I needed some extra energy to work on this.
-Daglob. For helping me with tips, suggestions and, of course, for offering his amazing skopes and skins.
-Courtnall 6. For leting me use his weapons textures for my Bucky and Fury skins.
-Cyberburn. For letting me use his cousin's FLASH22798 creations.
-Prev. and my FRP2 pals, for hosting my humble mod.
A special "thank you" for Prev for suggesting the title of the mod.
I hope you like it, feed back is welcomed, as always.
Cool stuff, JJr!
Looking forward to trying it out.
Great! Just in time for the holidays break. :)
Thanks for this mod John, I just finished it over the Christmas break and it was fun and well put togeather. It was nice how all the stories fit with each other (nice story telling too!). And I liked the idea of using different meshes to represent the different Caps.
You did a good job with the characters abilities and especially their personalities.
One thing I have to mention:
Spoiler
I ususally play on the Hard level because it seems to play the most balanced for me, but there ways NO way I could even come close to defeating the robot thugs with Jeff Mace and Golden girl, they don't have anything that could damage the robots and if I get anywhere close to them to throw a shield I would get fired with there lasers. I had to lower the level to easy for that mission and then turn it back up.
I am defenatly looking forward to anything else you may have in the works. Thanks again for this cool mod!
I'm very glad you liked the mod, USAgent.
Spoiler
I usually test the mods in 3 different difficulty levels, but I had no time to test it in "Hard" this time. My bad. It's possible to win the thug robots with Jeff (a lot of hit and run with overpowered shield throws if I remember it right), but it's one of the harder encounters of the mod. I shouldn't made it so hard, sorry.
I'm very glad you liked the mod. I thought a lot about the mod and I was worried if I got the characterizations right, so thanks for the kind words.
Since I decided to do this mod I knew I would use different meshes for every Cap. I wanted to make them unique in appearance and power sets. I'm glad you liked it.
Once again, thanks a lot for the feedback!
This Mod has been a delight to play John, i've been looking forward to it since your first posts.
The different meshes and power sets were definitely a bonus with a great story tying it all together.
An excellent Christmas gift

Thanks, Dana.
I'll be looking forward to your comments when you finish it.
I followed USAgent's tip and made a minor tweak in the mod.
Spoiler
I reduced the Robot Thugs resistance a bit. Now Cap III can kick their robotic behinds in the "Normal" and "Hard" settings.
If you like higher difficult games just ignore this update, but it will make the Jeff Mace's missions more balanced.
You can get the update in FRP2, as always, just unzip it in your main :ffvstr: folder or just unzip and replace the "characters.dat" file on the mod for the new one.

:banghead: Figures, my disk drive just went out. And...I still haven't gotten to fully enjoy the Mod. :banghead:
Okey doke JJ, I just finished mission number 4, and I am really enjoying this mod since I got back into it. As usual, what follows is an attempt at some more detailed feedback:
Spoiler
Mission 4: This one is most likely the best written of your Cap missions so far. You had several great lines, and everything felt really good. If I had a bit more time I'd give you a re-work of the language for this one, but your English continues to improve my friend! There were very few errors, and everything just "worked." I really enjoyed Cap's exchange with Master Man, especially his words after the fight. I also like the Skull's speech to Cap, but the language there needs just a bit of work. So, characterization was great, but what about gameplay?
Well, the gameplay was good, but your writing was better. Ha, honestly, everything worked pretty well, but there was room for improvement and one minor bug. First off, I loved the reveal of the Skull in the battle armor. That was awesome! I was more than a little intimidated, so I immediately opened up on him with everything I had. Sadly, that was just about too much for the Skull, and the fight was almost over before it started. The Skull should definitely be tougher, methinks. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give him an area attack to make up for his slow keyframes. The fight with Master Man, on the other hand, was pretty good. He hits very hard, and you really have to stay on top of him with both Cap and Bucky to keep from getting swatted. Finally, after you disarm the bomb, the panel to sabotage the base appears right next to it (I'm guessing because they're either using the same marker or both using "encounter#" and I just got a bit of weird luck). Calling for a different marker might make that better. So, great work as always JJ, I'm looking forward to the next mission!
Howdy JJ, I had a few minutes tonight, so I thought I'd get a bit further in your Cap mod. I just finished mission number 7, and I thought I'd give you a bit of feedback.
Spoiler
Mission 7: This was a fun mission, and I actually enjoyed using Bucky Cap. He had a pretty neat herofile, so he was entertaining to use. Falcon wasn't nearly as neat, on the other hand. He felt pretty limited, and he went down really quick under the Hydra guns. Perhaps he should be a bit more nimble or have a passive defense that gives him a good chance to dodge gunfire. He might also benefit from a flying melee kf and attack. He wasn't bad, but definitely not as interesting or as useful as Bucky Cap. I definitely liked going up against Hydra. I've actually been sorta' wanting to throw a Hydra mission together in my Marvel mod after seeing the Captain America movie, and this adventure did not disappoint. I enjoyed the fight with the robot at the end. Giving him a stomp attack of some sort might make the fight a bit more challenging.
I'm guessing I'm missing a lot in terms of Cap lore here, as I know next to nothing about Bucky Cap. I had no idea that the Black Widow was his love interest, but you manage to get some information across very smoothly, without having to just throw exposition at me, so good work. Ohh, since when is the Black Widow unaging? I definitely liked the little story hints we got here, especially the clue about the top Hydra scientist being Krueger. I'm going to go ahead and call this, the Kreuger they're talking about is the girl Bucky fought alongside! We'll see if I'm right, but I'd almost be willing to be on it. If so, that's an awesome twist, and the storytelling mileage of that is great. The language wasn't quite as good in this mission as it's been in the last several, though.
So, final analysis? It's a solid mission. You could perhaps use a bit more to do, maybe some more roving patrols of Hydra goons, and the Falcon could have his herofile expanded a bit. However, the story was really neat, and the battle against the robot was pretty cool. I was definitely a little intimidated when that thing showed up and stomped my way.
I'm glad you liked the story so far, Benton.
Bucky's build had to be "stronger" than Falcon's because he had so many "wonderful toys", like the knife, the gund and the good, old shield. Falcon's greatest advantage is his flight power, but FF doesn't represents aerial combat very well. Anyway I'll be sure to edit Sam's hero file a bit if I use him in a new mod.
I hope you like the final mission and, once again, thanks for the comments.
JJ, I regret not having the time to play your mod yet. I hope to get to it one day. As for Falcon, you could utilize his power over birds a little more if you aren't doing so already.
I used only Red Wing as Falcon's "feathered friend", Prev, but you give me a very interesting idea.
I hope you get time to play the mod, after all, I need to know if I did Jeff Mace justice.
Dearest JJ,
I got around to playing the first 4 missions of your mod (bui;d 1, I believe). I enjoyed it. I do, however, wish Golden Girl were a little more useful as I typically relegated her to the role of minimum contributions while Jeff handled the majority of the mission. Obviously, any critique I have for you not will be of little use, especially since I forgot to update the dat. Oi vey.
I never finished the mod, unfortunately...I lost it in one of my crashes, so I'm going to download it again and play it through.

I'm glad you liked the mod, Prev. I had trouble to get some Golden Girl material, I could find only one of her Golden Age appearances, so I had very little info about her abilities, but it looked to me she was only a slightly above average athlete, so she had to be the less powerful of the All-Winners. I hope you liked Jeff's build anyway.
