Heya gang...I'm wondering if anyone has and uses Poser Pro. I'm working on a little something and I need help exporting some pz2 animations to bvh so I can work with them in max; from what I understand Pro can do that. So...can anyone hook a brother up? :D ;) Thanks in advance.
Cas!
I tried doing this several years ago and the problem i ran into was that the BVH format used by poser and the format used by Max were, in theory the same, but weren't. It was never clear whose implementation was wrong, but it seemed that Poser had their own set of rules for exporting that wasn't quite kosher. Back then the forums were full of people complaining about it and I think the only solution was a third party application that would allow you to user poser scenes running inside max as a plug in (you had to have poser running at the same time). It was always really ugly.
I haven't looked at this in long while, but it never seemed like anyone was too keen on addressing it as the most common response I saw was "Just use max it's easier."
Well I thought it was going to be simple like go to file->export->BVH and figure out if it needs to scale or not.
The problem may be in the rigging - I think naming has to match exactly and params need to be darn close. Beyond that I couldn't really tell you.
One more thing: It's possible that the Y-up/Z-up thing might be an issue.
Thanks guys. ;)
