(with thanks and apologies to DaGlob, since I'm borrowing his style of promotional images)
Since I'm Nifskoping these as well as skinning them, I figured I could just as easily put this thread here as the skinning thread.
Coming soon...

How many can YOU name?
Hint: these are all DC characters.
One - Agent Liberty, so cool. Keep up the good work Kenn
Yeah, I think the green chick is "This One", AKA "The Celestial Madonna". Is the ape Solivar? (I need to finish Sam Simeon)
I've seen the guys in the back someplace...
And it all looks good.
Yes, that's Agent Liberty up in the corner and the green chick is indeed Willow (as this one was called) when Steve Englehart used the Celestial Madonna in "Justice League of America". And yes, that is my take on Solovar, ruler of Gorilla City.
(airborne)
Agent Liberty - from "Superman" (vol 2) #60 et al.
Blackwing - from the Huntress story in "Wonder Woman" #297-299
(on the ground)
Willow - from "Justice League of America" #142
Swashbuckler - from "Detective Comics" #493
Onyx - from the Green Arrow story in "Detective Comics" #546 et al.
Steve Trevor as the Patriot - from "All-Star Comics" #8, et al. but in a guise from "Wonder Woman" #174
Solovar - from "Flash" #106 et al.
Sonik - from "World's Finest" #310 and #318
Moonbow - from "Firestorm" (vol 2) #48 and #49
(back row)
the Triple Stars [Red Star, White Star, and Blue Star] from "Wonder Woman" #176
They all look great. I find Moonbow paticularly intriguing
Can't say I recognize any of them, but cool stuff Kenn.
Hey Kenn, you gonna do the Avengers clones from Englehart's run on the JLA?
They are on my list, but way, way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy down.
From Englehart's run? I don't remember any Avengers clones from that run (139-146,149-150). I remember them from Friedrich's run (Wandjina, Silver Sorceress, Blue Jay, Jack B. Quick/Captain Speed).
Well, I did Blue Jay eons ago. Though technically I did the JLI/JLE version of him (his mask changed). Wandjina is on my list. I'm considering Silver Sorceress and the speedster. Mostly a question of figuring out how to make Sorceress' headgear.
Yay, more Silver/Bronze Age DC! Lookin' good!

That's it. Good to know.
They're all great as usual, Kenn, but Agent Liberty and Solovar are specially good.
If it weren't for the spoiler, i wouldn't know who those characters were. :P
Nice costumes though. ^_^
The above characters and these
(http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/moon-girl-and-the-prince.jpg)(http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/sivana-show-off.jpg)
have been shipped off to Alex, so hopefully they'll be released at the Freedom Fortress later in the week.
I'm looking forward to get Sivana, The Big Red Cheese will get some new EZScripts soon...
A+ job as always, Kenn. Thanks for releasing them!
They're all up now at http://alexff.com!
Great work as always, Kenn!
I like your choice in characters (at least the ones I know!) and am seeing characters I actually wanted to create and now won't have to.
Moonbow looks really cool, Agent Liberty and his shield are nice, and I love that Onyx! I'm really surprised to see the Mantis of the DC Universe, too! Nice job on the whole group.
I am curious about that guy in blue in the middle.. who is that?

By the blue guy in the middle, I assume you mean the black guy with wings. He was called Blackwing (gotta love those early 1980s names). He appeared in the "Huntress" (Helena Wayne) strip that was the back-up in "Wonder Woman" in the early 1980s. He was costumed in 297-299, IIRC. He was a partner at Grayson, Cranston, and Wayne, who took up crimefighting after Batman was killed.
I'm glad to know there are a few of us who still remember some of these guys.
Here's what I've been working on today... still a definite work in progress.
Looks interesting Kenn.
Neat design, again don't recognize him though.
When he's done, it will be the Atomic Knight from DC circa the mid-to-late 1980s (the end of CoIE, then the Outsiders.)
There are some of us that remember the original Atomic Knights.
That does not affect how great that scope is for Gardner Grayle as The Atomic Knight.
Sweet skope Kenn, I always thought his 80's outfit was his most distinctive, albeit clunky look. His newer suits are just ...meh.
In searching for reference material, I've come across a site that indicates that he was tapped for a fourth line of Super Powers toys that never happened. I suspect that the 80s design was designed with the toys in mind. The monochomatic armour (shiny), the big helmet, the shield and the large rocket pack would all be ideal for a toy, but a pain for a comic book artist. It also may be why DC was pushing hard for him right around that time, and then once the SP line folded, he pretty much vanished.
Getting closer, but still not there.
Shiny!
That shiny armor really makes that skin stand out Kenn. Very nice work. :kingbe-thumbup:

I like them all, especially the GL from LV-426. I designed a slightly different comstume for him. I also gave a certain little green Jedi master a Guardian robe...
Gangbuster! i was looking all over for him! Now for a luthor/brainiac team up to shatter is mind, muahahahah
That "sideways flattened" Shadow Thief is inspired -- what a great idea! Very happy to see Brainstorm, too...what did you use for his helmet? It's spot-on!

The Brain Storm skope started out as Saracen's Bulletman mesh, with several deformed taskmaster belt-buckles, taskmaster's baton, and the "fro" from Saracen's Big-@$$ Fro mesh making the rest of the helmet.
Now, let me ask you this: during the late 1970s or early-to-mid 1980s did you ever watch cartoons either on Saturday morning, or else on weekday afternoons in the "after school" block? If you did (and you lived in the U.S. at least) then you saw a lot of commercials.
And now, proof once again that Irrational should have made the teams 5-character teams instead of 4-man teams...

Maybe the Red Skull should have gotten his weapons from AIM*. I mean Crest vs Aim, seems like a natural to me.

That is seriously cool Kenn, what did you use to make the toothbrushes with?

The toothbrush handle is the staff from Checkmate_Knight_New, flattened (and they're all using the CKN keyframes). The base of the toothbrush head is Taskmaster's beltbuckle, Nifskope-distorted (I manually altered half the coordinates to stretch it out and flatten the sides). The block of bristles is the Quiver_Square and the blob of toothpaste is a distorted Mustache, both from Tommy's Versatile series.

The only thing I can say about this is when can I get ahold of them?

Really inventive usage of Nifskope Kenn.
That's pretty sweet Kenn.
say...wasn't there an incentive to make mods based on retired skinners returning? alright then. i demand my crest team mod now!
Hey kenn, I don't want to threadjack, but did you attach the quiver and buckle to the staff or is there another way to connect the pieces?
It's hardly a threadjack, CB. Yes, the quiver, buckle, and mustache pieces are all "children" of the staff.
If you open up the original (:ff:) CKN mesh in NifSkope and click on the Staff, there is a NiNode named "Staff". If you click that Node's details it says Children: 1, and if you explode the array so you can see the contents it points a NiTrishape Editable Mesh which contains all the stuff to define the staff.
If you open up "C" (or any of the others and click on the Staff, there is still a NiNode named "Staff". But if you click that Node's details it says Children: 4. If you explode the array, you'll see the first child is still the NiTrishape Editable Mesh that defines the staff, but the next three are NiNodes named "bristles", "brushhead", and "paste" (I renamed them.) And each of those has a "child" that is there own NiTrishape Editable Mesh.
I found that when I wanted to adjust the position of the staff, it was easiest to first do the Transformation on the Staff NiNode, but for it to truly take in game I had to Apply the transformation, first to the NiNode, and then all 4 children (and to be complete, also the 3 TriShape subchildren.)

Wow, thanks for taking the time to explain, but I think most of that went way over my head. This will give me something to explore though.
And I'm looking forward to checking out the GL skope as well. :D

Silver Sorceress' helmet: Tommy's open face helm from the versatile series; a Wonder Woman tiara from an old WW mesh that Feledio had done; and the scabbard from Taskmaster, broken into pieces.
Other stuff in the pack I just sent Alex:

Superwoman and Robin II. Awesome.
Hey, I was gonna do that Superwoman... and am just as happy that I don't need to now.
Great stuff!
Icon looks cool.. I really like Silver Sorceress and Wandjina. Glad to finally see them in the game.
Wonderful choice of characters Kenn
Can't wait to include the heroes of Angor, plus the first Jason Todd costume and Mileston's Icon are real gems.
Fantastic work :D
Wow! There's some great stuff in here! I love that Atomic Knight. As a matter of fact, the trio you previewed there, Gangbuster, the Knight, and Rampage are some of my favorites of what you've got here. Matter Master! Awesome, I've been wanting one of those forever! Ha...I love that alien Green Lantern...too cool.
Damn Kenn....youre goin crazy here! YOURE OUTTA CONTROL!!
I dont know who half these people are, but I have to have them anyway!
Scorpion, no, the problem is I need a real job again. Damned 21st Century Depression.
As soon as Alex has the updates up (he's about half way done with getting the pages updated, last I heard) you can get them all. As far as who they are, you can either wait for the files and check out the Peruse Me files, or just ask.

It's not
quite so depressing until your unemployment runs out, you lose your house, and you move back in with your mother.
I moved back into my folks' house three years ago after my Mum's stroke. About two years ago my former landlord lost the building I had had my apartment in before I gave it up to be able to help my folks. And my unemployment... well.
So, what characters do I need to identify.
This batch we had the Champions of Angor AKA the Assemblers AKA the Justifiers AKA DC' Avengers the way the Squadron Supreme are Marvel's JLA. That's Wandjina (with the axe), the Silver Sorceress (in gold, don't ask), and Jack B. Quick (and my old Blue Jay hex from years ago.)
Then there were Icon and Buck Wild from the Milestone comics line. Icon's a strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities... etc. The twist, he landed in 1839. Buck Wild, Hero for Rent was an homage/pastiche/parody of Luke Cage who appeared in Icon's book.
Then there's Wonder Woman Wetsuit - based on Lynda Carter's underwater gear from the 1970s TV programme. And Jason Todd in his first costume. This is the Earth-One Jason Todd, the likable one from before he was wiped out in the Crisis and replaced with Jason Todd the rhymes-with-gaspole who was killed by 900 number vote and inexplicably resurrected. And Super Woman - Kristin Wells - from the far future who used future tech to become Super Woman in the 20th century.
Ah, ok. Im gonna haveto get them Avenger knock-offs. For some reason, Im always intrigued with characters like that. The fact that the Squadron mini series is one of my very favorite comics doesnt hurt, either.
And poor Jason. Sure, he sucked, but when they brought him back, they could have had a great story about him coming to terms with his tragedy and somehow, through the love of his friend and the support of Bruce being able to become a real hero again.....oh, wait, no, he's a wacko vigilante who wants to improve on Batman's methods through killing the criminals. Thats a fresh, interesting idea! We sure havent seen that before! Just ask Jean Paul Valley. Or the Reaper. Or Vigilante. Or...
I'm sorry to hear about your problems, Kenn, I hope things get better soon. I have the same habit, when I need to stop worrying about problems, I just try to concentrate in create something. So, every time I went in a "creating spree" you can be sure I was upset with something.
Anyway, I loved the new creations, specially Wetwoman. Lynda Carter will always be the true Wonder Woman for me. Jason is great too.
Alex finished putting my latest stuff up on the site last night. Enjoy.
They are very enjoyable! Excellent job causing a download frenzy. Thanks for your wonderful work.
A great set of releases Kenn.
Spoiler
And for the record, I don't think you are the only one who turns to :ff: when real life is rough. It's a great escape.
Okay, it's scary when, in over a year, this thread is still on the first page.
The Mister Incredible skope I mentioned in the request thread, and Left- and Right-Winger a couple of ex-Bold Urban Commandos who got ticked when they were fired when their boss, Super Patriot, was tapped to be the then-latest Captain America.
What I think is cool is that the Wingers actually have flaming torches they wield. And in opposite hands (as befit their names)

That's Beaded's Bug mesh, which a while back, with B.I.L.'s permission, I skoped onto my Blue_Beetle_KX hex/skope
The Plastic Man is just Texas Jack's Plastic Man mesh with goggles skoped on.
The Flash of Two World's are one mesh. So are Mas y Menos.
Hooray!
Kenn's back!
One of the few characters introduced during the Radium Age of comics that I actually found likable, Amanda Conner's sexy Terra III(http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/atlee.jpg)
And easily the most successful of the Jurgens era Titans, Argent(http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/argent.jpg)
Both skoped from the Terra mesh that was used for Tara Markov in the Titans mod. Both just added to http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Whatever_happened_to_Kenn/files/
I haven't seen anyone else do Terra and Argent before ... nice! Also, I love that Blue Beetle skope.
Credit where its due, Bearded-in-Lair's Bug mesh is what really makes that Blue Beetle skope, I think. And the skin on Argent was by Afghan Ant.
But thank you.
hi kenn, great stuff. when I click your link to download, I get a page not found error. would you know what is wrong?
Try this - http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Whatever_happened_to_Ken/files
Thanks. Both of you. And I did fix the link above.
These are really neat, Kenn!
I really like the Blue Beetle and Terra/Argent, in particular.
Nice skopes, Kenn.
Blue Beetle looks cool and I really like how Terra came out.
Okay, anyone want to guess what my favourite cartoon was growing up?
Here's a hint: (http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/evil-Kryptonians.jpg)
Not helping? Here's a bigger hint: (http://www.rcuhero.net/zzzkenstuff/SuperEnemies.jpg)
Okay, we have Zy-Kree, an escaped Phantom Zone villain from the Season 6 short "The Evil from Krypton".
Then we have a trio of villains who were "The Terror from the Phantom Zone" (Season 3a): Hu-Ul, Rom-Lok, and Lo-Gar .
[Hu-Ul's name was pronounced "hull" but I assume it should have a more Kryptonian spelling; which happens to be identical to Faora Hu-Ul's surname - maybe he's her father or husband]
And then the others are the Super Enemies (Superman, Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman) from the "World's Greatest..." (Season 4) episode "The Universe of Evil". I think the title explains who the Super Enemies are pretty easily. Remember, parallel worlds are too confusing for new comic book readers, but it's okay to use them on Saturday morning cartoons.
I need to do portraits and Peruse Me files for this lot, but they should be up later this week in one of my Yahoo groups.
Awesome universe of evil skins Kenn.
