So before I get into any new projects, I decided to redo some of my older stuff just to get the feel of things again. First one is the original one i did a few years ago. I had to redo all the paths since I lost all my psd files three PC rebuilds ago.

Any and all feedback welcome. One question though: on the highlights on the new version at the top of the S emblem, did I go too overboard or not enough?
looks good to me...did you give this version a backstory?
It looks like you gave the yellow behind the "S" a highlight where it meets the red. It would be fine if the areas all where they met did the same but you gave the red a cast shadow.
cryonic: no story here; I found the design on google a few years ago and decided to try my hand at it.
murs: what I'm talking about are the highlights on the pecs. To me, it looks like two bright yellow splotches. Do I need to tone that down or increase it? As far as what you mentioned, I think I see what you mean...the shadow that runs along the top of the middle and bottom curves of the S?

Where I've circled the yellow has a highlight where it meets the red. Everywhere else the red is casting a shadow over the yellow suggesting it overlaps.
This looks like a nice improvement, HWC. The skin looks much more detailed with the shading you've employed. Overall, I think it looks good. :)
