Is anyone else excited about Genndy Tartatovsky's new show Sym-Bionic Titan coming out soon? The show looks incredible! Kind of old skool Mecha vs. Kaiju stuff. Excellent!!!
If you haven't heard of the show yet, it's kind of flown under the radar. Here's a good and short article from WIRED: http://www.wired.com/underwire/2009/03/chung-tartakovk/ (http://www.wired.com/underwire/2009/03/chung-tartakovk/) And here's some of the art from it: http://www.kevindart.com/index.php?itemid=235 (http://www.kevindart.com/index.php?itemid=235)
Kind of reminds me of the artwork from Samurai Jack (not surprising being Tartakovsky) which is all good w/ me.
I THOUGHT it looked like Genndy's stuff! Now I'm very curious.

Imho, this series is gonna' rock! But I'm biased as I love Genndy's work AND I'm a fan of old skool anime'. The "soldier" character from this show bears an uncanny resemblance to one of the Gachaman characters.
If it's Genndy Tartatovsky, I'm watching. I don't think I've ever seen him do anything bad. I'll definitely check this out.
The first episode ROCKED, imho. I'm really looking forward to watching this series unfold.
I am greatly enjoying it so far myself. Gendy really knows how to frame a shot. Can't wait to see how this develops.
Just remember the most dangerous foe you can face....

Well, it's been on a while and overall, I like it. A lot. And last week had the best use of a "Flock of Seagulls" song I've seen in ages.
BTW: I almost missed that the episode "Shadows of Youth " was written by Paul Dini. Cool.
Yes..it was a really great episode and a perfect use of "Space Age Love Song"...I could really picture a girl like Kimmy listening to some 80's pop. Octus is the "MACK"!
Well, the first season is over (I think they called this last episode the season finale), and I think it went out nicely.
We finally get an episode to feature Solomon (who's been missing for a while) and with him a whole lotta questions. The whole hand-to-hand style thing... I look forward to seeing how this plays out. We're still no nearer to knowing who's side he's on, especially now that we know he has a boss, even if we don't see said figure. Oh yeah... And I liked the "Solomon Kane" nod, even if it was just in name only.
Overall, I like the series. There were a few rough patches (the car episode) but overall, I liked it a lot. The core cast is very enjoyable (especially Newton) and the show is amazingly well-directed and staged. I would like them to develop the supporting cast a little more though.
