Title: Windows 7
Post by: Dr.Volt on August 25, 2010, 12:21:41 AM
Hey, I'm probably going to be buying a new computer soon with Windows 7.  And I would like to get back into  :ffvstr:.  Are there any known issues?  Does the game work on Windows 7?

Thanks!!

Okay AA is right, Windows 7 won't run the Conversion Tool. I downloaded a XP virtual machine so I could do that.

Do you mean the EZNifConvert? I did get it working on Windows 7. I remember it was tricky and I don't recall how I did it though.

I just installed EZHero 3.3 now. When the install finished Windows informed me that it might not work and allowed me to reinstall it using recommended settings. It seems to be running now, though I haven't tested all the features.

Me too.

The Nifconverter crashes... or "has stopped working".

I don't believe this is exclusively a Windows 7 issue. It happened to many of us after EZ Hero 3.3 was released last year (I use XP Pro). COMDLG32.OCX is a file available through a Windows download. Googling it should bring up the page for you.

yep, I usually direct folks to
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/support_dll.phtml?dllname=COMDLG32.OCX

when they ask.
Download it and drop it in the ezhero progtam folder. Should be good to go.

Having a strange issue with windows 7 32 bit for FF1. The game runs in compatablity mode, but the AI/ pathfinding is off. In both mission one and the deathmatch mode for mission one, telling Minute Man to go to a spot a few feet away makes him wander around looking for the destination. Trying a few different powers, shooting a pistol at an object or enemy works, but if the enemy is too close, right on the character, punching doesn't. Fly will put him in the air, but moving around or landing is very buggy.

It's a fresh install , patched to 1.3, with the only change in init.py was camera zoom. I don't think I've even unzipped the ff files yet.

any ideas?
