Title: Liberty Belle by Renegade (Courtnall6 skin)
Post by: life_matrix on April 28, 2010, 04:10:31 AM
Could anybody send me Renegade's Liberty Belle mesh ("LBREN.zip" and includes skin by Courtnall6)?

It seems both Renegade Toybox sites are gone now (renegadetoybox.com and renegadevictory.com) and while there are three old Yahoo groups for Renegade meshes (starting with RenegadeMeshes1 (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Renegademeshes1/)), those are missing a lot of Renegade's stuff, including this one. (It should be possible for members to upload Renegade files to the group, however.) No meaningful results for "LBREN.zip" on Google, either.

I was able to recover a handful of other meshes from archive.org's partial site archive (http://web.archive.org/web/20070514222612/www.renegadevictory.com/archiveL.htm), but most are missing. :(

Strangely, I see a brief mention of "Liberty Belle" on the Alex's Freedom Fortress - 2003 Updates (http://www.alexff.com/updates2003.php) page:
QuoteAlso, 15 updates: Aquaman (Harpoon), Aquaman, Black Canary, Black Canary (Golden Age), Black Widow, Dr. Fate (Golden Age), Elektra, Green Lantern, Human Torch, Kang, Liberty Belle, Psylocke, Sandman (Golden Age), Troia, and Wonder Woman.
Sadly, there is no mention of who made this Liberty Bell. And after searching through the skins pages I still could not find it.

Hi Life-Matrix. The read me on the Liberty belle file doesn't specify, it works on my FF1 and it states the kfs work for both games so hopefully it should work for both. BTW I saw your post about this in your Superman request thread.

I know you're trying to do a good deed, but the reason none of Ren's current meshes have been reuploaded is because he hasn't given anyone the go ahead. We're assuming he's planning to do something with it as he hasn't taken up anyone's offer. (you can find several threads where this is talked about on the forum and even in this section.)

Oh, sorry. My bad.
It is removed.

I guess I can understand. Though, for the record, I am of the opinion that once somebody uploads something like this to general access on the Internet (a public place), there are no "take backs." Besides, with Freedom Force fan sites dropping like flies, it is merely a matter of time before a majority of fan-made material will be unavailable to newer fans. That is, unless we start preserving the stuff like the Wayback Machine on archive.org (http://www.archive.org). (Maybe somebody should tell archive.org to stop archiving Freedom Force material, since they don't have permission? But then, they can legally assume they have permission unless specifically told otherwise.) And much Freedom Force material was created by fans who have since changed their email or who are otherwise extremely difficult to find and contact.
