Anyone else having trouble getting this to work if they downloaded :ffvstr: from Steam?
I've had to jump through 15 hoops including uninstalling and reinstalling the mod (which takes over 5 minutes in each direction) and having to track down multiple shortcuts. And I still don't know if I have it working yet. This will be my 4th time reinstalling the mod, leaving the default Irrational games folder install in place just in case.
The crux of the problem seems to be; Steam installs to a different location than the CDs did. Yes, I can change the directory that this Mod installs to, but I can't find a shortcut icon to link to to -play- the mod, and every time I change the target location appropriately using the 'read me.txt' as a guide, I'm told that file doesn't exist.
I'm told it's a great mod. Someday I might be able to give it a try.
Just to update, I finally got the shortcut to work. Provided I want to play the normal :ffvstr: campaign.
With all the normal characters.
