Title: Right click on hero & get nothing
Post by: freegentile on April 05, 2010, 01:58:00 PM
I created a Stormtrooper after the mesh I found out there & noted that even after successfully creating him, giving him attrib's, powers, etc., he shows fine in the game, his little preview pic shows @ bottom left, but when I right click on him to attach him w/ a good guy, it's like he's invisible...just get "GROUND" to attack, not STORMTROOPER. Very odd. I did exit the game & rebooted, just to see if it made a difference, & now I get nothing AND the "+" over his head, which I'm told is because I gave him the Combat Skill attrib. I can chunk that attrib, but any idea why he looks valid in all areas, but I can't choose him to attack?

I promise you I have thoroughly right clicked everywhere on him to make sure it wasn't pilot error.

the mesh probably doesn't have a bounding/selection box.

Looks like 3D Master did the mesh...

Anyone know how to get in touch w/ him to ask re: fixing this? That what we do in a situation like this? I guess I could just forget about it & just inflict damage to him by exploding stuff nearby or throwing stuff in the Stormtrooper's direction  :)

You could try opening it up in nifskope, and copying/pasting a bounding box from another mesh.

I'll go check out the mesh tutorial. I just downloaded Nifskope a few days ago & opened it for the first time tonight. Have no idea what I'm looking @, but I'll give it a whirl. Thank you.

Attatching bounding boxes was the first thing I learned how to do with nif skope, it took me a couple tries at first then it became easy. You'll probably want to pick a bounding box from a comparable male mesh though.

Do you guys have a screen shot or link you can throw on this topic that tells me where to look for a bounding box & how to copy one from one NIF to another? I can't even find instructions for that on the Nifskope support site.

http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Freedom_Force/Bouningboxes  <--- peruse that and see if it helps to clear up some things.

Sorry to have to resort to this guys, but I just don't have the bandwidth for this. I have absolutely no graphics experience, so I'd like to ask someone if they'll fix these two meshes. One is Storm_Trooper & the other is Ra_keys.
