Title: Head transplant?
Post by: John Jr. on March 26, 2010, 12:54:03 AM
Here we go again...
May a kind soul tell me how I can change a mesh's head by another head in Nifskope?
Thanks in advance!

I know it is possible, because there are  a few (Male Trenchcoat Newhead for example). I haven't the faintest idea how.

Blender can be used to change the head, but again..

Check this thread: http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=49313.0
It was only 4 threads down.  :P
I'm just giving you a hard time. Sometimes you get nothing when your search is too specific. I hope this helps.

I'm trying to put Ren's Superman head in Ren's Invincible body.
I read the "tips and tricks" topic and saw only how remove parts, I need to know how to paste the new head, etc. I tried this but the "new head" appears in the wrong place and I can't move it. I removed the "old head", but it only moved to the character's back :banghead:
Like I said, Nifskope is new territory for me.
Thanks for the help!

I'm sorry, John Jr. I sent you to the wrong thread. The post I was thinking of was also by Johnny Patches, but it is on the Freedom Reborn Index site. It holds threads/posts going a few years back and is a valuable commodity for finding things. You can find it here: http://archive.freedomreborn.net/

I copied the post from JP, as it is buried deep in the Let's See What You Skoped thread.

head swaping

there is 2 ways to do this. 1st way is. on the item you want select its niskindata then go to bone list and there is a list of skin data click the star looking thing and put to zero to find the head, then put the head to zero you might have to adjust it a bit so it dont bleed threw then wella paiste the other mesh over it... the 2nd and better way takes a bit longer, select your item go to nitrishapedata scroll down to triangles collapse it, a long freaking list of numbers and as you selcet them each triangle shows in the picture screen so that helps.. the ones you want to remove set to zero in all three boxes and so on and so on i watch from the neck up so i can edit later.. after your done with what every you acomplished.. then last but least click on the mesh w/right mouse button selcet mesh, then prune triangles then save click on the mesh again w/right mouse button selcet mesh, then remove duplicate vertices and save your done.. 2nd methed does not have to be used for the head only it will work with any item you do not want on a mesh
for any other tips just ask, working on the cape issues

Thanks, I'm already trying it.
First attempt generated a monster uglier than Bizarro, but I'll continue trying!

I can get the head from one mesh, and the body from another, and even have them mostly in place.  However, is there a way to make them so that they are actually one piece?

Well I've been experimenting with it today and the best I can do is make the original body have no head and new body be just a head. It then just uses one TGA but it is two parts. I was able to take AA's Lion Beast and combine it with my all in one Beast that uses IPS's keys. It's tedious work. Not something I want to do regularly.

Okay, so I guess I'm doing okay with the process...
