Title: Escort and other EZscript actions
Post by: John Jr. on March 03, 2010, 01:58:43 AM
I'm working in a "Custom encounter" with EZScript and need some kind of "natural disaster" effect (but can't use "Earthquake"), I tried to use the "Thunderstorm", "Ice Storm" and "Meteor Storm" actions, none worked. There's something I had to do besides write the actions in the "Action" parameter of the Custom Encounter or these actions really don't work?

Hmm....I haven't gotten around to writing any of the missions that I've got laying around that would use those, so I'm not sure.  As far as I knew, they were complete in and of themselves.  What is it doing when it doesn't play?  Are any characters in the encounter spawning?  Can you post the pertinent part of the txt?

The encounter worked, except by the "storms". All characters were spawned, the cs played, no problem at all, except by the "summer day climate".

That's too bad it doesn't seem to work...I'd like to be able to use atmosphere like that in some of my missions.

It would be great to have a lightning storm during a mission (where the map lighting is dark, but flashes very bright at differing intervals, accompanied by rumbling thunder).

I hope you get it to work, JJ.

I couldn't make it work, Dana, so I just gave it up.
It's a shame, it would be a very useful tool.

Hey guys,
Any of you had any luck with an "Escort" EZScript encounter? I tried to make one for the second time and got no luck. I just want to know if it works.

Wasn't "escort" used in one of the Patriot City Tales missions...Minute Man had to escort some secret agent lady?

You're right Dana. The Minuteman and Agent Collins Mission was an "Escort". Looks like I made something wrong... :(
Well, maybe in the next mod...

Not working for you JJ?  Are you getting any error reports?

The encounter didn't started. I thought it was because of the "Escort" encounter, but now I believe it was another problem with cutscenes. I already re-scripted the entire Mission and it's working fine.
