Title: Cautiously Optimistic

This would be AWESOME. Looks like we might be getting something before GR.

My big fear is that we're going to be MT'ed for it. I know We never have before, but watching the way Cryptic is nickle and diming CO and STO I think it's a reasonable fear.

If this is "free" (Included in my regular 15 bucks a month) then I have to say I will be a very happy camper.

All that sounds awesome. If I could still play I would pre-order ASAP. :(

"Shadowy Presence" invisibility as a bonus power in the Collection sounds interesting... and I remain cautiously interested in Going Rogue.  I don't have any use for DS and I can wait for DP, so I won't be preordering.  I like the pricing for the expansion, but a price drop in Star Trek Online might convince me to do that instead so we'll have to see.

I'm pretty sure I don't have the hardware to make Ultra Mode usable, so I'll have to wait and see before I jump back on the bandwagon for Issue 17.  For now I'm inactive and staying that way for awhile.

I'll almost certainly be pre-ordering, although I don't know if I'll actually use the new powersets.  I do find it interesting that the epic archetypes are being made available much more quickly for new players.  I wonder if new ones are being planned for GR?

I haven't played CoX since I8. Everything looks confusing to me.

I had the same problem when I came back a few months ago. Took me a long time to figure out alot of the noncombat related stuff and I was constantly asking newbie questions.
Ok I still am.
Thanks to Mike, Eph and TT for their patience.

Bluebard, for the life of me I can't see what a price drop on STO has to do with the announcement of issue 17.

I don't remember when it was, but a while back it was said by one of the current Dev team that the previous team's choice to have the epics unlocked at level 50 was a mistake they made. The logic was that there's a signifcant portion of the player base that never gets to level 50 and would be unable to enjoy the ATs or the content that goes with them.

Well, my brother in law certainly like to make new characters.  He's constantly deleting all his and starting over. That's just the way he likes to play.  I doubt he'll ever get to 50, so I guess I can understand that.  20 he could do.

Nothing :)

It does have a bearing on when I come back to CoH, though.  I can't afford two MMO's.

So do I.  I'm flat out amazed that I even have one 50.  My next highest toons are all in the low-30's.

Dual Pistols and shadowy presence if I pre-order?

It's... it's... it's like they're marketing just to me.  ;)

Was thinking about picking up STO --- but I have to admit, this just changed my mind.

Been waiting sooooooooooooo long for this.  ;)

Not quite...

Preordering gets you Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning early.

Buying the "Going Rogue: Complete Collection" when it becomes available in July gets you an item pack that includes Shadowy Presence.  And of course Dual Pistols is part of GR.

It's possible that the item pack will be available separately, but they're using the term 'exclusive' which suggests not.

When can we pre-order?  I've checked the website and haven't been able to find it.

Another week or two preorders go on sale I believe.
