QuoteThe upcoming animated series The Avenger: Earth's Mightiest Heroes  is already recording its second season and the first one hasn't aired yet.  To add to the mystery, it isn't even listed on IMDB!  Since the announcement of the new series in October 2008, nearly no new information has come out about the series, originally announced as a 2011 airing.

I was going to make a post about this myself since I have been keeping an eye out for this series since I saw the promotional teaser..

While we have to wait until 2011 to see the start of the first season, I'm quite happy to hear that the second season has started production which must mean the finished shows are making quite an impression and having a full two seasons leading up to the Avengers movie in 2012 keeps up the hype for fans and viewers that get hooked into the show once it starts. But the magic words from the interview is that the show follows the comics with minor changes here and there.. thus eliminating my fear of flashbacks of Avengers United They Stand.

Plus the cast list looks pretty good to me..

Now if they can just start airing the second season of Wolverine And The X-Men I'll survive the wait for more Marvel Animation.

I hope the long wait means they will be able to go back and work out kinks so that we get a great finished product!

well what do you hope from this series? i'm a big hulk fan but i wish he wasnt part of the line up. i dont want another superboy and the legion of superheroes. i also wish cap would be the team leader. i also hope they stay true to each character. i saw a preview and it had cap throw his shield at a big armored robot and it shatters and explodes. i love cap too but he's no thor when it comes to impacts after a throw. i'd like to see them use most of the avengers line up at some point.

In the comics, Hulk was only part of the team for a short while, in it's first days. Since this show claims to be following the comics from day 1, that could very well be the case here too.

Hulk had his own series being developed by another animation studio while the initial phases for Avengers were in pre-production but both offices merged together when Marvel Animation Studios realized that most elements from the solo series would work easier in a team environment and the Gamma Corps just didn't gel together like they planned on. Many character designs for Hulk's supporting cast did carry over into the Avengers show as well as a few storylines that were supposed to have cameos by other Marvel heroes.

They did decide to keep the Gamma Corps characters (based loosely off the gamma spawned Hulk-Busters from World War Hulk) but instead of them being a team that Bruce Banner forms they are a group sent after Bruce Banner while he is staying at Avengers HQ.
