BASH! is a pen and paper RPG, like Dungeons and Dragons, only with super-heroes. I bought the .pdf of the complete rules the other day and I really like what I've read so far. Is is much easier than Mutants and Masterminds, Champions, and Villains and Vigilantes, and I don't think you will lose any enjoyment because of that. My friend and I are going to use it for miniature wargaming, I'm sure. The game is published by Basic Action Games.

Yeah, I just got it myself. As you say, much easier and simpler than many of the crunchier games. And yet it has a lot of buildability. Very nice balance. And for someone like me that doesn't have a lot of time it's very appearling. A friend and I just did our first game session with it and it was WAY cool.
Glad you liked it. I haven't been able to play a game yet, but I have my fingers crossed that it will happen.
If you are interested, here's a link to a pretty cool narrative that my friend Gary wrote of the first session (that's my pc Ocelot in the story): http://bashtalk.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=406
And here's the campaign setting as it's developing: http://bashtalk.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=375
Yeah, again, cool game. :)
Nice job on the game summary. Its nice to see well-written stuff on the web.
I'll check out the campaign stuff when I have a little more time.
I need to check it out, I'm starting to work on a pen and paper super game myself (much more on that in a few weeks) and I want to go simple rather than complex... I mean you can write a page for each power with explanations or you can say "it is superheroes, just go out there and have fun".
Thanks, Xenolith. By all mean do continue to check it out...and we welcome your further comments as well.
Lugaru, that's my feeling for sure. I used to tend towards the more complex/crunchy supers games back in the day. But then again, I was in college and had LOTS more time than I do now. I like the way Chad Underkoffler puts it (in explaining the impetus for creating his "lite" supers game, Truth and Justice) that he just found it increasingly difficult to keep track of horrendously complex rules and ofcourse....a general lack of time. Maybe this comes with middle age also...I don't know. But as you inferr, really the main ingredient to all pnp RPGs is imagination. Yes, "lite" games are "high trust" between the GM and players. But isn't there high trust anyhow. And GMs should have lots of freedom anyhow. Any how, I would recommend BASH to you, even if it's just as a reference.
