So my hard drive crashed and I've pretty much lost 6 years of my life not to mention every skope I've ever done. The sad coinsidence was I was planning on releasing a lot of stuff this week. I have sent my hard drive off to try to save my files, has anyone ever used this kind of recovery company. How did you get your files back and how much was recovered? When I get everything up an running i will need some help tracking down some FF stuff and i'll need I'll need to find a copy of FFVTR.
Sorry to hear about the hard drive crash F_H. I think letting the experts handle it would certainly increase the chances of recovering your lost files. I hope everything turns out well.
Check Amazon.com or Steam for a new copy of :ffvstr:.
Sorry to hear abou the crash. But you are taking the right route with best possible results.
After you get your files back, invest in a external hard drive and back your stuff up. Hard drives are cheap and it's real easy to set one up to back up.
Back up is always a good idea, but since it happened you are doing the absolute best thing by taking it to a specialist. My cousin once ripped everything off of an old dead computer for us once. Depending on the damage, it should be relatively easy to recover such files.
In my experience, they are pretty good at recovering files these days. I'd advise you to either get an external hard drive, as others have suggested, or do one of the online backup programs that they have these days. I have AVG, and for $50.00 a year, I can back up EVERYTHING. That's what saved my rear end after having to wipe my PC.
