Title: Sons of Anarchy

Any fans of the show here?

I learned about SOA a few weeks ago by some of our fellow FR members and have to say that it has quickly become one of my favorite shows to date. It's about the inner workings of an outlaw biker gang (Sons of Anarchy aka SAMCRO). It's well into it's second season and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great characters, Harleys, leather, babes, guns, alcohol, foul language, and bloody violence...what's not to love! :D

Well, I've talked about it in CO chat, so you know I'm a fan. Unfortunately, I'm two episodes behind but I've been keeping up with what's happened by checking out things online.

There are two moments I can't wait for: 1. Clay and Jax get their hands on Zobelle and his goons now that they know what happened to Gemma. (I really hope something nasty happens to Zobelle's daughter for her part in it, but not the same thing that happened to Gemma) 2. Opie finds out the truth about Donna.

The cool thing is Kurt Sutter, the show's creator, is married to Katey Sagal who plays Gemma, and also acts on the show. He plays Big Otto, who is in prison and has had bad things happen to him (blinded in one eye, wife murdered) while in prison. And the actor who plays Jax is actually English!

Like GM I'm also 2 episodes behind... Probably watch them tonight or tomorrow though.
I love this show.  The cast is what really drew me to it and keeps me coming back.
Hard to believe Jax is British!

I've been a fan of Rescue Me for years now - this summer I thought I'd check out that other FX show.  As I wasn't terribly interested in what looked like a white trash biker series, I really didn't expect to continue watching it - just thought I'd see an episode or two and give up.  It was midway thru the first season and it grew on me REAL quickly.  A lot more complex and intriguing than expected.  I'm so very eager to see the next few episodes after this past week's hour-and-a-halfer.

You guys REALLY need to watch those two episodes :o

I mentioned to GM brfore that the actor playing Jax looks like the lovechild of Heath Ledger and Kurt Cobain...it's downright eerie at times.

Love this show one of my favs that are on love all the characters even the ones your supposed to hate. It fills a void now that Shield is gone . Rooting for the bad guys but they are kinda good at the same time or at least not as bad as the other really bad guys. Katey Segal was a good choice for the Gemma along with the others seems like FX found another winner they keep cranking out great shows Shield,Rescue Me,Nip Tuck,Always Sunny in Philly ...

Watched the season finale, and....wow. When the truth comes out, depending on whether or not Abel is found and safe, Stahl is either going to be owned by SAMCRO or a dead woman.

Great finale

I can't see Stahl surviving season 3...she's a dead woman either way GM.

Spoiler

At least Weston took his punishment with honor.
Rollins had a lot of guts to play that character, and give him so much depth.
Stahl on the other hand, I can't wait for her to snivel when she gets punished.
As for Zoebel, jeez I dunno, I'm tempted to say that SAMCRO should leave him for the aryan shotcallers or Alvarez.
I have a feeling that Otto was able to go up the AP food chain, and his shanking was okayed by the AP shotcallers when they found out Zoebel was a rat.

Truer words have never been spoken. I see both resemblances each & every time I watch the show. 0.o

Mikeb7 talked about this show until I was practically forced to give it a try. Quickly this became one of, if not my absolute favorite shows to watch.

Has anyone here kept up with the current season 4? It's absolutely insane how much they have been pushing the limit with this season. I have been on the edge of my seat for most of this run. Anyone else?

Also really enjoyed this season.  Fantastic acting from the leads.  Quick thoughts off the top of my head:

Spoiler
No idea what's up with Gemma.  Did she have second thoughts?  Did she have another plan in mind for Clay?

This season, Clay really went off the deep end - much like Breaking Bad, going from a man who did bad things but had some sympathetic moments, to someone utterly despicable.  He definitely 'needs to go'.

Ope has a truly majestic lion's mane of hair that I would give a finger to have upon my head.  Best hair on television.  His acting is pretty understated, but he kicked butt this past episode.

As poetic as it may be to have the son kill the father, I so very much want Ope to be the one to do it.

"Chibs and Hap went home, haven't seen Bobby or Juice, I think Jax finally tracked down Ope and Miles and Kozik are dead..."  Tig's delivery of that line was hilarious.

Two-part season finale?  That's ROUGH.  Gonna try and wait the extra week to watch both together, cuz the wait between them could be maddening.  Gonna...TRY....

My younger brother introduced me to this series, and I've been following it closely ever since.  Very strong storytelling in this show.

That had me scratching my head as well. Her character was all over the place. No idea what's going on in her head.

I believe I will cheer out loud when it finally goes down.

No lie seeing his caveman look makes me want to grow my hair back out. o.O

One of the best characters on the show. The delivery was perfect.

Good luck waiting. I know I won't be able to pull that off. I'm too hooked.

Quote from: Mystik on November 28, 2011, 09:11:28 PMThis is basically the play hamlet right?

According to the show's creator very, very loosely based.

Could not resist.  I watched it and it was awesome.

Spoiler

Who the hell's gonna be left after this?  Chibs, Hap and the prospects?  Geez, EVERYONE's in trouble in some way.

"He's mine."  daaaaaaamn...

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone is in some type of trouble. The season finale is going to be nuts.

Woot! Sons of Anarchy talk!

Season 4 is absolutely insane. Everything is going so wrong for everyone...it feels like it's the final season or something (haven't read that it was or anything). I just keep thinking how in the H E double hockey sticks is SAMCRO going to survive all this.

It's nice to see Ope get some more screen time. He was barely around last season. Tig is crazy (and awesome) as ever.

I wouldn't lump Walter White in with Clay Morrow. Clay is clearly the more twisted of the two. Walter is dark that's for sure...but he was just doing anything he could to keep his loved ones protected. Clay's actions were soley to protect himself.

They just recently greenlit a season 5, but like a lot of people, given the way this season ended up, I almost sensed that they weren't sure it was gonna come back and they were setting up the end of this season to work as an end of series -- but then made some slight alterations to keep it going. In any case, I suspect 5 will be the last season and it's gonna be interesting how they are gonna go with it -- especially with everything that happened at the end of this season.

I used the word season a lot.
