I bought the steam version of FF recently, and I've been on a bit of an X-men binge of late. The thing is though, I've been somewhat disappointed when it comes to finding a Phoenix skin. About the only one I've seen so far is the one C6 did as a standard for Ink's Phoenix mesh (and a version of the same skin for female_longhair) and I'm not really happy with it at all. The green of the outfit and red of her hair are too flat and they both go too dark on the shadows, and the refl on the yellows is almost ridiculous.
Does anyone know of a better or more recent version? Worst case I'll make my own (though I'll probably switch out Ink's female_bald with my own basic mesh once I've finished it off) but I just find it odd that someone hasn't done a better one yet.

Tomato described one of your older skins and why it did not satisfy him. How many times have other skinners seen this in the request forums: "I found a skin of "X character" but does anyone have a C6 version"?

Umm... I didn't mean to insult you C6, but I am a bit surprised by your reaction... it's an older skin to begin with, I think we can all admit to ourselves that all our skins from a few years ago... well, they suck. Stuff that was top-of-the-line three-four years ago is garbage compared to what even some of our newer members are putting out. But thing is, we've gotten better too... when I actually do skin I'm probably over AA's stuff from a few years ago, and I know both of you can still far outdo me (case in point: Skin I use on my Cyclops mesh? Isn't mine).
Now granted, It was probably a bit tactless of me to go as in-depth as I did into pointing out it's flaws... I'll own that. I'm a bit critical when it comes to artwork of any sort, and I'm not exactly always tactful about my points. But the point of my request was to ask if there was something that was better suited to my needs, and I *attempted* (and failed, I think) to make it clear that what was "wrong" with this skin was not that it needed some new-fangled ultra-high-quality C6 skin magic or something, but just that it didn't have good enough use of color.
A crap skin it is. I just don't see the need to rip apart an old skin to request a new one (and by someone who could actually make a better one). Especially now with all the skinners we have these days. A Phoenix skin made now by any skinner would be better than my crappy 6 year old skin....so I found going into critical depth like that unnecessary.
