From the PvP comic webpage (http://www.pvponline.com (http://www.pvponline.com)):
QuoteIt?s LOLBAT week here at PvP. Not only do we have a new LOLBAT story-line starting up today, but the LOLBAT is also invading NC Soft?s Super-Hero RPG, City of Heroes.
I was invited alongside Rooster Teeth and comics legend Bill Willingham to take part in NC Soft?s new Guest Author program. We all got a chance to author our very own in-game missions via the new mission architect system and they are live and ready for you to play RIGHT NOW.
My mission arc is called ?OMG! It?s the LOLBAT!? (arc id: 337435)
- OMG! Your new contact on the street is none other than the internet meme-obsessed hero, the LOLBAT, and he brings grave if not confusing news. The Algonquin Hate Table, a rogues gallery of the LOLBAT?s greatest foes, are looking to expand their heinous if not artfully influenced crime syndicate into Paragon City. If you know what?s good for you and the citizens you protect, you won?t let that happen. Luckily, the LOLBAT knows how these guys work and he?s ready to help you defeat these pompous profligates.
So if you play City of Heroes log in and find an Architect Entertainment Building in game. If you?re new to COH, you can download the free trial and check it out. The game runs on both Mac and PC now.
Big thanks to NC Soft for letting me put the LOLBAT into COH and be a part of their guest author program.
Have fun!
I'm mildly intrigued by this, but I'm way more interested in finding out who their other guest authors might be... an Evil, Inc. themed mission arc would be way cool, for example.
Sound fun, but i wonder how they are handling the issue of proprietary characters. It has always been the case that any character created in-game belongs to NCSoft (hence the Marvel lawsuit and problems with clones). There were always warnings from the community that if you one day hoped to make your concept into an actual comic you should not create an avatar in the game.
i'm sure that NC Soft and PVP came up with some sort of exclusive agreement, after all, NC Soft invited PVP to do this.
And lets not forget that PvP featured a CoH storyline for a time... and that the DVD set shipped with a PvP mini-comic with that material. So there has already been some relationship between the two.

That's a suspicious looking winky, there, Zapow...
My lips are sealed.
Zap, if that wink is on the level....it would almost be enough for me to sign back up for CoH...curse you! :D
That wink can only mean Jon Bon Jovi is a guest author.
I've registered a few toons to join the frey - I love PvP
Uh, wrong PvP Electro. This thread is about the comic PvP which was adapted partially for an AE arc. You are talking about the PvP tournament. Not the same thing I'm afraid, although it would be a good topic for its own thread.
LoL ow ok - Not the first time i've F'ed up & certainly won't be the last
