every time I try to copy and paste a branch from one mesh to another I get a message like this :
Nif versions differ!
Current File Version: xx.x.x.x
Clipboard Data Version yy.y.y.y
The results will be unpredictable...
If I proceed from that point It always destroies the mesh. Good thing I keep the originals and only work on copies. But this isn't getting me anywhere, how do I make it work ?
You can't mix parts between meshes that are not for the same game. That means you can't mix a mesh made for FF1 with a mesh made for FFvTTR. Luckily, you can convert FF1 meshes, so that they can be skoped with meshes from game two.
or you could try this. i done this plenty of times export to .obj with nifskope
then import to other mesh with nifskope ;)
O-K I sent both meshes through the converter and then I was able to move the shield I want to the mesh I want. but it doesn't show up in the character tool only in nifskope, so how do I make it visible in the game ?
O-K I've gotten some of the problems worked out and now the last crusader mesh looks like this :

Yeah it looks great ! There's just one problem, when he moves the shield doesn't move with him. so what did I do wrong ? and how do I fix it ?
Please someone help me. If I get this right I'll probably never skope again. At least for a month or so anyway.
I think the problem might be with the nifskinstance that's attached to the shield.
DetourneMe has a neat little trick you could try here.

Edit: You may have to move the shield around so that it's back in the right position.
Hope that helps. :)
Thanks for trying but it didn't have any effet at all. I tried several times, just to make shure I was doing it right. then I looked at other alpha nodes and noticed different settings so I tried those settings on my shield, still no effect at all.
Anyway thanks for trying
Sorry, ot the alpha trick. just below it, the nifskininstance part.
