Title: help please anyone who loves to make meshes.
Post by: LAST_CRUSADER on September 18, 2009, 10:19:39 AM
I need 2 original meshes with original key frames for 2 characters that I love to play.
1) a Knight called the Last Crusader, He has a long sword a medium sized kite shield and a cape.
Last Crusader is a Knight who was fighting in the first Crusade when he had a vision of the Holy Grail. In it he was promissed That he would remain alive on Earth until Christ returns. He is 1000 years (aprox) old but still looks 19. He has interacted with many famous people though history including kings, Popes, Saints, And evil men, He has fought in many wars, And has endured terrible tortures. In the modern Age he is a Superhero and the founder of the Knights of Saint George.
2) The mighty Paladin, a muscular fighter type who uses his fists his feet and his nunchaku. He wears a leather jacket and goggels.
Paladin is my own Avitar, I originally created him back in 1983 for a Villains & Vigilantes game. He discovered his powers when he was injured fighting a mugger. He healed instantly and defeated the mugger. I've used the character in numerous games over the years and even written more than one comic book about him. He has his own page on my website.
I have previously played this Character in freedom force by skinning a male teen mesh it looked like this:

notice no nunchaku and his goggels and jacket are painted on

pictures of both characters can be found on my website at http://crusadergame.books.officelive.com/default.aspx

If you can make these meshes with the keyframes I will jump for joy and shower you with praise. I've played Freedom force and Freedom force v3 for years and I've looked everywhere for meshes for these characters and they don't exist.
Also if you make thesemeshes for me, I'll post them on my website so everyone can see them.

I made this request on Freedom force center and Chief Justice said "Both appear to be well with in the realm of Nifskope to create. Both in fact, sounds very doable using one of Tomyboy's fingered versatile meshes as a base...I'ld suggest aslso tossing this request up on Freedom Reborn, taking in mind what I suggested."

By the way I really hate the taskmaster meshes.

Oh I almost forgot. I do want to Give back to the comunity that has given me so much joy so in a few days I'll be adding a freedom force page to my website that will feature skins for some characters that I've created.

Anyone will half a brain is going to ignore your "challenge" because it is sort of condescending.

Make a request don't be silly and thinly veil it as some sort of "challenge". SMH.

I wasn't trying to be condecending, I honestly thought it would be a serious challenge, because it involves making something that's never been done before, Particularly the nunchaku.
Personally although I enjoy skinning, I don't want to take the time to learn meshing since there are only 2 meshes I want that I can't find online. It looks like an awful lot of trouble for just 2 meshes. so I figured if someone else already knew how, they might like to try this.

I think it's just a poor choice of words. It's really quite a challenge or a great deal of work. Hopefully someone will eventually need a mesh like the one you're asking.  :)

You've got quite a lot of interesting characters and stories in your website. You're skinning is not that bad either. I'd be interested to see the rest of the skins you've done for the other characters.

can't you skope the nunchaku off of the Ninja Turtle Michelangelo mesh (sorry can't spell). If anyone wants to see what I mean, just send me a message and I'll send you the mesh.

Well, I got nifscope last night. I don't really know how to use it but I was feeling my way around in it and managed to turn Tommy Boy's Black Knight mesh into this

I also took time to do the skin last night, pretty cool huh ?
Still no shield and it's probably gonna take a long time before I can figure out how to take objects from one mesh to another. I saw theres a shield built into this mesh but I couldn't figure out how to make it appear and it's round anyway, I need a shield shaped shield, so it can have his coat of arms on it. When I can find time I'll actually read the tutorial. I'm sure that will help.

The nunchaku, for Paladin, are gonna be a special challenge because he doesn't use them all the time, and he uses his fists a lot. It would be really cool if once he used them he switched to a different melee idle that has him spinning them at his side. Then when he used a punch attack again he could switch back to the regular melee idle. I don't know if that's even possible I know nothing about making keyframes, or meshes.
Please help.

That is pretty cool Last Crusader.   And you only needed one night. :o.

If you know how to make use of alphas, you can actually draw the shape you want for the shield by making the other parts of the shield invisible. :)

There's also Renegade's Captain America GA and Ultimate 4. The shape of the shield is almost the same.
Then there's the BattleStar mesh. The shield there looks exactly alike. ^_^

don't know how to use "alphas" yet. don't even know what that means but it sounds cool. I have the Cap GA mesh but you're right Battlestars would be better and I know where to get it, just don't know how to copy objests from one mesh to another. any tips ?

I managed to turn the shield on but of course it's still round. I got the battlestar mesh so i can copy his shield but I have no idea how to copy and paste objects from one mesh to another. The tutorials I found online were worthless. they didn't even seem to go with the same program I have. please help.

This is the tutorial I've used to start skoping.

http://frworld.wikispaces.com/NifSkope

It goes over how to move one mesh piece to another mesh.. just read it carefully and you should be able to get it.

Check the Master Mesh List for Male Shield; it has a shield that has alpha properties. Then look at FXForce (I think), they have some different shields for the figure as well as a "clawblade" that looks pretty neat. You might double check and be sure that Tommy's Black Knight doesn't have a shield (I've never looked). You can set Nifscope to show all the stuff in a mesh whether it is hidden or not.
