I don't know anything about the character or the story, but the trailer kind of reminded me of...Van Helsing, which was, in my humble opinion, one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Not THE worst, but definitely in the top 10. Not sure about this one..

I on the other hand really liked Van Helsing. So that's not a problem for me but the original character does seem to have some bearing on the story.
